Come closer
You seem so far away
There's something
I know you need to say
I feel your emotions
When I look in your eyes
Your silence
Whispering misunderstandings
There's so much
You need to realize
You'll feel my emotions
If you look in my eyes
(Chorus:)
Hey, darlin'
I know you think my love is slipping away
But, baby, it's all in your mind
Don't worry
Hold on tight and hear me when I say
Baby, it's all in your mind
Believe me
I believe in you
There's nothing
This feeling couldn't do
Move closer, my darling
Feel the love in my

Also sorry for adding an apostrophe. How rude.

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:42

Sorry, furryfury... I'm too quick for you Wink

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:43

I forgive you, furry Grin

Tomhardy :( That was the first "commercial" song I learnt to play on the piano.

PamBeesly · 11/06/2011 00:44

My sister couldn't name a Beatles song....she is a bright lady, she is also 32, we had the exact same upbringing. I don't understand it. We don't have much of a relationship, which makes me sad but if we had I often wonder what we'd talk about.
My DH who is 39 was very impressed with my musical taste and knowledge and thats one thing we bonded over.
The song the reduces me to tears is Solitare by The Carpenters, it reminds me of my father. I love Karen Carpenter her voice was like honey

tomhardyismydh · 11/06/2011 00:45

Its funny how both were so poignant, I bet It sounds lovely on the piano

I'll have to put my tea down and stop browsing through my Itunes library or I'll never keep up. Brew

FreudianSlipper · 11/06/2011 00:46

anyone can tell you there?s no more road to ride
everyone will tell you there?s no place to hide
there?s no laws or rules to enchain your life
but the ones who didn?t make it,
the ones who couldn?t take it,
so glad they made it out alive
everyone loves the fun
everyone comes by

in the wind I crunch, I want to die

they can give me pills
or let me drink my fill
the heart wants to explode
far away where nobody knows

do you believe she said that?
do you believe she said that?

I said I hate myself and I want to die.

half of it is innocent
the other half is wise
the whole damn thing makes no sense
I wish I could tell you a lie
hey, come here
let me whisper in your ear

I hate myself and I want to die.

do you believe she said that?
can you believe she repeated that?
I said, I hate me myself and I
said I hate myself and I want to die

i love cat power's music (the singer, not the mn cat power)

tomhardyismydh · 11/06/2011 00:47

have you looked at bofs link on the other thread, now that will bring a tear to your eye.

Pam DH and I were the same. I genuinely don't know how to talk to people if they have no interest in music.

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:49

I've been around this world
Yet I see no end
All shall fade to black again and again
This storm that's broken me
My only friend

[Chorus:]
In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain't no coming back

Withdrawn I step away
Just to find myself
The door is closed again
The only one left
This storm that's broken me
My only friend

In this river all shall fade to black
In this river ain't no coming back
In this river all shall fade to black
Ain't no coming back

*This song was written by Black Label Society in memory of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, from Pantera/Damageplan, who was gunned down on stage the night that I met DS's father. Still makes me cry every time I hear it.

BitOfFun · 11/06/2011 00:50

Ooh, I am still poised with itGrin

This is my learning disabled 10 yr old dd who has no speech joining in with me singing to her. A big step, and lovely for me to hear, as she has never said a word.

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:50

TomHardy, it sounds BEAUTIFUL on the piano. I've forgotten the chords now, and only have DS's chad valley keyboard, unfortunately...

tomhardyismydh · 11/06/2011 00:52

I even have subo on my eye pod as she sings amazing grace and how great thou art so lovely

tomhardyismydh · 11/06/2011 00:54

im sure it will sound perfect on the chad valley Grin

BitofFun it was lovely to hear you and your girl

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:55

Oooh, Bof, that's adorable! Grin

Once DS masters "Mother Knows Best" from tangled, I might upload that. Although, may have to do it in video form, as he adds the dance moves if he's singing the second version

BitOfFun · 11/06/2011 00:57

I have to apologise for my less-than-fabulous vocals, but I got a bit self-conscious knowing I was recording it. But that wasn't the point, I guess.

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:57

Haha, TomHardy, I did manage to play November Rain and the Healing Incantation from Tangled on thee yesterday. Then DS threw in a request for The Wheels on The Bus... Hmm

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 00:58

BOF, you sound a hundred times better than I do... Wink

tomhardyismydh · 11/06/2011 00:58

ha ha. the tangled sound track is lovely, so is wheels on the bus though

girl is amazing

PamBeesly · 11/06/2011 01:06

Her voice is quite something

DontCallMePeanut · 11/06/2011 01:11

Ahh, the tangled soundtrack trumps the wheels on the bus anyday. DS did try singing along to a taking back sunday track last week, much to my amusement.

That Jacke Evancho is something. not the voice you'd expect from an 11 year old...

PamBeesly · 11/06/2011 01:34

and this from another remarkable female

Pray God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things I should've said,
That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go,
Make it go away.

Give me these moments back.
Give them back to me.
Give me that little kiss.
Give me your hand.

(I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.)

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things we should've said,
That were never said.
All the things we should've done,
That we never did.
All the things that you needed from me.
All the things that you wanted for me.
All the things that I should've given,
But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go away.
Just make it go away now.

PamBeesly · 11/06/2011 01:39

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs,
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfill the Book.

Won't you help to sing These songs of freedom? 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs, Redemption songs, Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fulfill the book.
Won't you have to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs -
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom
