To be a little bit sad that our anniversary is going by pretty much unacknowledged.

I can't be mad about it because money is so tight and we have lots of stressful stuff going on. Its just another day, DP wished me happy anniversary today and said sorry for not getting a card, i said its ok i havent got him one and didnt expect anything. We have been together for 20 years. The last five have been up and down to say the very least. I don't have hardly any food in so no special dinner, its been pissing down all day and DD home from school so haven't been able to get out to the shops to get stuff for any sort of dinner, let alone a special one. Maybe in the back of my mind im hoping DP will take me out tonight, but i know he wont as we can't get childcare and we are broke. Is it so wrong to want a bit of bloody romance? Instead of having to spend the evening trying to be nice and not talk about stressful stuff because it is supposed to be a special day?

ah that's lovely, I'm glad you had a decent evening and hope you have a good night.
But you were not being unreasonable to have been feeling grumpy I have a DH (also of 20 years) who also needs a serious prod about anniversaries and birthdays and he can't see why it pisses me off.

Haven't really got any advice, but wanted to wish you happy anniversary. Its mine and DH anniversary also today. If it makes you feel any better we've today in A&E with 2 yr old DD who couldn't walk. Been diagnosed with irritable hip, and we are so relieved. We can't afford a nice dinner either but I've made a nice fish pie and hubbs is gonna pop out for a bottle of cheap wine later and we will toast that our DD has nothing more serious. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a nice evening. Take care.
