To wish people would stop asking which parent dd1 gets her IQ from

DD1 is a clever little thing, has a real head for numbers and has a massive IQ. She tells people facts and number stuff, and they always ask where she gets her cleverness from, me or dh??
Cant it be just because she is? And seriously do they think I will answer that?

I don't need to boast, I know she is but hate the assumption she gets it from dh!
Her beauty on the otherhand .....

If they ask "where does she gets her cleverness from, mum or dad?" it's not making an assumption is it?

I often used to get asked if I got my maths ability from my mum or my dad. I'd answer truthfully - neither of them were academic at all. My mum had no problem with this, her usual response was whether nature or nurture it's all down to her!
