I probably am, and can't really blame my friend but I wonder if others would have done differently.

I was due to be godmother this weekend to my friend's daughter. I travelled 150 miles, and gave up the chance to spend the weekend with relatives I don't get to see very often. Sadly, my friend came down with a D&V bug and decided to cancel the christening at the last minute.

I am sure really that she made the right decision, but can't help wondering if maybe she was being a bit of a wuss.

Molly - do you mean that I am a horrible person for saying, as i did in my first post that "I probably am" BU, that "I can't really blame my friend" and that "I am sure she made the right decision"? Or have you chosen to tell me that that twice for some other reason?

D&V bugs can be pretty nasty. Your poor friend, she obviously wouldn't have cancelled her daughters christening just to inconvenience you, she probably feels terrible.

Yes there is a time and place for imodium. The time and place for imodium is emergencies. For example, I used it on holiday when I caught a tummy bug in Egypt and had to to go on a car journey as part of the tour.

Imodium does not treat the bug, it only stops it temporarily. When it wears off, you get it back even worse.

What would your friend have done about the vomiting part of it? I am sorry you travelled all that way but it wasn't your day it was your friends and good for her for not wanting to infect all of her guests.

I am actually laughing to myself that you think she is unreasonable. Why would she want to endure hosting a party with the shits.

I bet your friend did not take the decision lightly.

Oh and really imodium shouldn't be taken for D&V the bug needs to run its course.

Immodium is for when you have IBS.
It's not for stomach bugs.
