my cousin is coming up 15. she is on fb, as is her mum.
my cousin has just posted a whole album of photos which were a day out for her up coming birthday. her mum took her and 5 friends away. the photos are all my cousin with bottles of booze, her mum making 'fun' ( read moronic) faces, tounge sticking out flicking the V, my cousin snogging her mates, (male and female), with her mum in the back of the photo pulling more stupid faces. the girls dressed in itsy bitsy bikinis, in shite weather, boobs pushed together, this being cousin, and the mum. random stupid photos of general shite.
then cousin has made comments on the photos, as has her mum, and its shite like,
X being a bad mother fukka. and her mum commenting, not as bad as me.
or x showing us her bad thang. and the mum posting my bad thing loves a decent photo.
or x gettin a look on my mum, and the mum saying, or he cant help it, he wants an older woman to show him the way.
i have now blocked all her posts, but come on.
why is the mum acting like an over sexed teenage prat?
am i far to much of an old goat, or is that totally weird arsed behavoiur>?

ahhhhh are you trying to be cool by saying it's 'weird arsed'.

Get thee down with the youth of today!!

Actually, fwiw, I do agree with you. Bonkers. FB is truly the devil's spawn.

ScrotalPantomime · 30/05/2011 12:47

YANBU. Parents should be parents, not 'bezzie mates'

TidyDancer · 30/05/2011 12:48

Ick! That sounds awful!

KatieMiddleton · 30/05/2011 12:51

Revolting.

YANBU.

manicbmc · 30/05/2011 12:53

She sounds delightful. I must add her to my friends list. Grin

EricNorthmansMistress · 30/05/2011 12:55

Minging!

howsthatworkingforyou · 30/05/2011 12:56

mid life crisis lol

Gay40 · 30/05/2011 13:02

FB is only a nightmare for those who think it is real life and overshare.
I'm far too boring and strict to be cool - safe to say DD will never describe me as cool or as her friend. The line is firmly drawn.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 30/05/2011 13:06

YANBU. I don't understand a lot of what you wrote - further proof of my non cool credentials.
I think my DD would describe me as her mate, but I don't ever want to be best friends with her [shudder]

manicbmc · 30/05/2011 13:10

My dd thinks I'm cool because I let her get on with her life (she's 16) but am here if she needs me. We do have a giggle together.

I don't think I'd ever want to go on holiday with her and her mates though. Too embarrassing.

valiumbandwitch · 30/05/2011 13:15

cringe!

My daughter will think I am a big bore. I can live with it.

MumblingRagDoll · 30/05/2011 13:59

bleugh! Gross! The mucky old bint.

DoMeDon · 30/05/2011 14:06

YANBU - she is utterly pathetic not slightly. Setting a bad example and failing as a parent.

Wottywot · 30/05/2011 16:51

YANBU - It really irritates me. Parents are supposed to be role models and to be respected. I don't think my DD will describe me as 'cool' when she gets older, although I don't see myself as 'uncool'. I wouldn't want to be her 'best mate' either.

slightlyunbalanced · 30/05/2011 16:54

Reminds me of that film Mean Girls where the "mom" says "I'm not just a regular mom - I'm a cool mom" My kids love that Grin

Tsil · 30/05/2011 17:07

Yababitu - my mum is and was my best friend. There is nothing I can not tell her at all and she is always there when I need her i am 26 now and it's rare but I know I can turn to her day or night but

It was never to the extent of the op. We had boundaries and knew we would be in deep shit if we crossed them.

chipmonkey · 30/05/2011 17:07

She's 15! YADNBU!Shock What is the world coming to?

TheBolter · 30/05/2011 17:11

Good god, I'm pretty open minded and would like to think I'm quite with it myself (mind you, the saying 'with it' makes me sound like an old gimmer!) but I read that in utter disbelief.

She sounds tragically uncool and desperate if you ask me...

GwendolineMaryLacey · 30/05/2011 17:17

Your cousin doesn't sound too great either. Sounds like the pair of them could do with a few pointers in how to behave with a bit of dignity.

that is wrong. Envy

I've got my friends, I don't need to fraternise with children.

sad. Children need a mother.

BooyHoo · 30/05/2011 17:25

you are describing exactly my EXP's mother and sister!!!! it is cringeworthy to see.

squeakytoy · 30/05/2011 17:26

My husbands ex-wife is like this with her kids and their mates.. it is gross... and she is 50.

Brightredstar · 30/05/2011 17:30

YANBU that sounds quite disturbing.
