to want nice nightwear for DD?

Went out yesterday looking for pyjamas/nighties for DD - she is coming up to 2 and has outgrown her sleep suits. I looked in Asda, Sainsbury's and M&S. Every nightie was a Disney princess style, frilly and a horrible syntheticy material. Most pyjamas I could find were pink and either hello kitty / pepps pig - and you pay for the privilege. I fnally managed to get a 2 pack of cotton pyjamas, mostly pink but quite nice.
TBH I'm less bothered about the pink thing than I am about the disney princess style synthetic material. I would have preferred nighties, sure my nighties just used to be like long cotton T shirts in bright colours. Do they not exist any more?

Oh I am SO funny about pyjamas. I buy DSs [ he is 4 ] from John Lewis or Boden... because I like them to look cute, be cotton and no TV characters on them.

Debenhams have lovely kids' pj's, a bit pricey but there always seems to be a sale on at the moment so worth looking!

Really strange but while most pjs seem to be 100% cotton, nighties seem to be 100% polyester. Have looked fairly extensively on this. Even when you get pj and apparently matching nighty this is the case.
Best buy I had for dd2 was a 1930s nighty from ebay in a lovely pink floral pattern. Apparently it had been discovered at the back of a shop in France. Absolutely lovely and she's worn it so much. She'd now growing out of it, so I think I'm going to have to make some for her.
