Did an online shop on Tuesday night which came to £79.91 it was delivered on Wednesday. It actually came to £84.91 as some offers were cancelled.

Asda have put a ghost payment of £79.91 and taken an actually payment of £84.91.

So fucked off Bank say they can't do anything as the £79.91 was authorised online and been put on reserve, if not taken will be made available but could take up to 7 days!!!!!!!

ASDA's reckon nothing to do with them, they have had payment, I have had shopping!!!!!!!

Arrrggghhhh I am now skint until Tuesday!!!!!!!

and your point is bennifer?

NettoSuperstar · 27/05/2011 12:16

Asda have never done this to me.
I have seen all the threads on here but have had brilliant service from them, 'cept they were early the other day and the cute delivery guy saw me in my dressing gownBlush

Bennifer · 27/05/2011 12:18

I was just being snobby and judgey-pants.

It's Asda and Tesco and Waitrose, not Asda's, Tesco's and Waitrose's (I let Sainsbury's pass as it's a family name)

bonkers20 · 27/05/2011 12:32

I have never had this happen with Tesco and I have been shopping online with them since they started. The thing I hate about Asda online is that they ask for weight of fruit and veg. I want to ask for 3 courgettes or 12 bananas not try and work out how much 12 sodding bananas weight. Maybe that's changed since I last used them.

I've also tried Sainbury's but they wouldn't slice fresh bread so that wasn't any good. I've therefore gone back to Tesco who are very good around here.

edam · 27/05/2011 12:46

Tesco is almost a family name, though. Was started by Jack Cohen and I think his wife was Tessa. Dame Shirley Porter - the one who got away with dastardly deeds at Westminster council and never paid the money back - was his daughter.

FIFi25 If you ring adsa and tell them about the short dates they will ask you what products they were and come back out to you and exchange them for longer date ones or refund you the cost of these items.
This happened to me a while ago and i had everything short dated replaced.

fifi25 · 27/05/2011 13:23

3 I rang up about a month ago about all the freezer stuff being defrosted and they said they would refund. I have since sent 2 emails and still nothing. I sent an e mail yesterday re both of them again. I dont know why i used them again after the last time tbh

hpsaucy · 27/05/2011 14:16

It's ASDAs fault but there is nothing that can be done about it they should never have put a ghost payment through, they should have charged 1.00 to make sure the card was valid, then charged your card just before they left the depot with your shopping, but they didn't.

That is actually how Tesco do it.

hpsaucy · 27/05/2011 14:34

Its just pissed me off I'm now short of money over a bank holiday weekend!!!!

They shouldn't be allowed to do it!!!

Start online shopping with Tesco now.

Read the thread I linked to, all the way through :)

EricNorthmansMistress · 27/05/2011 14:35

There is something that can be done FabbyChic!

nannynick · 27/05/2011 14:39

Maybe the soluition to this is that the banks don't permit these pre-auth payments anymore. Then companies like ASDA can put through the estimated amount, then they can bill the extra or give refund on any over payment.

Anyone work for APAC or whatever the banking industry payment clearing system is called... could pre-auth's be banned? Are pre-auths ever actually useful to anyone?

I do wonder if Pay@Pump systems also do this pre-auth thing, as they do a card check, tell you an amount limit, then discharge fuel, then produce reciept saying amount actually paid.

fifi25 · 27/05/2011 14:41

Eric can you not just tell her what she can do if you know or she will be without money all weekend with the kids?

EricNorthmansMistress · 27/05/2011 14:43

Ummmm no she should read the thread Hmm

asda can fax but they will say they can't. There is info in the thread about how to get them to do that. I didn't write the thread and I can't remember 235 posts so I'm advising her to read it if she wants her money back today. I'm not teasing her or anything Hmm

fifi25 · 27/05/2011 14:50

Do you mean tweet about it Eric??

EricNorthmansMistress · 27/05/2011 14:51

No I mean read the bloody thread! I know there was something at the end about faxing but I don't remember what it was, and I don't care to read the whole thing in order to C&P for the OP.

fifi25 · 27/05/2011 15:02

Jeasus christ keep your hair on only asking, read half of it and looks like rep from twitter came on and refunded the money and said it wouldt happen again.

Lainey1981 · 27/05/2011 15:03
