Sure this has probably been done to death already but I'm new, so does anyone have any tips for bright/less conventional clothing? No kittens please...

What made you go pink mad Chloesmum? Do you just really like the colour or is it because there was so much pink girly stuff on offer in the shops?

I think there is more colour choice when they get older. When I open DD's (6) wardrobe, the colour pink does not jump out as being the predominant colour. She has a real range of colours, including a bit of pink. It has not been difficult to acheive this. Shops like Boden do things in a range of colours. In buying clothes for her, we both have a veto (she is not allowed to buy anything I don't like, and if she does not like something I have ordered it goes back). She only occasionally chooses pink so I have not particularly enforced a limit on pink (and she is quite girly with quite a few dresses). I more often veto because things are not age appropriate or are a bit fussy and frilly or have logos or characters.

We like Boden, Gap, PoP, White Company and try to find things in little local shops.

OP, if money's not an issue then there are some gorgeous but not overly girly clothes on www.mashngravy.com. Be warned, they are heart stoppingly pricey (I only ever 'window shop' on there Grin) but if you don't mind second hand stuff, it might be worth looking for the brands you like on ebay. Mini-A-Ture is especially lovely IMHO.

We had older ds and I suppose having dd was a novalty. Yes I like the colour for a girl. I am not saying it is all she wore but I definately went for a lot of the girly pinks when I could. I am not a pink dressed women RamblingRosa Grin
