TO POINT OUT that I doubt if most women have "20 unworn blouses in their wardrobe"

It came from a good source.

But Isuspect women in branches of entertainment and broacasting will have loads of unworn clothes....but they are not typical women

They may well see themselves as being always judged by what they wear.

But I dont think typical women are that bothered. A lot of them wear jeans and trousers, these days

Was it blouses? I was half listening to something on Radio 4 this morning, I thought it was 'items', i.e. anything.

Off the top of my head, I have shoes bought in sales that have yet to be worn, but will be when my current ones collapse. A skirt that was a-touch-tight-but-will-fit-nicely-when-I-lose-3lb-except-I-never-did. A black t-shirt for when it's duplicate becomes washed-to-death. A sparkly top my mother bought me for Christmas that I detest and should have taken to M&S to exchange.

Probably loads more.

Left it....it was probably the same item I heard. I plucked the blouses out of the conversation because I found it a bit OTT....The debaters were fashionistas, not necessarily the average person who talks more sensibly on clothes.

I have one unworn one - I was wrong to buy it. But 20!

Insomnia11 · 25/05/2011 16:10

I certainly don't - I had a clear out a couple of weeks ago. I've never bought stuff that I haven't worn at all though. Some things may get worn infrequently. I don't have the space to hoard clothes though, and have a clear out once a year. I do have a two pairs of shoes that are so high I've worn them to go out once and were so uncomfortable, but they look so pretty on my shelves :) At some point I will give them away if I am really not going to wear them.

DH is terrible though. He has loads of stuff he never wears. We have been together 12 years and I swear he has one jacket I have never ever seen him wear.

Insomnia11 · 25/05/2011 16:12

I don't keep stuff that is too tight, in general - always think if I lost a lot of weight I'd celebrate by buying lots of new stuff anyway. Grin

I don't think I even have 20 garments in my wardrobe, let alone 20 blouses worn or unworn.
The fashion industry would go bust if it was left up to me.
