Congratulations!

I'd say, as little as possible other than warm (but not too hot) water.

Oh, and YANBU, anyone who can manage to post a couple of days after childbirth can post under whatever topic they damned well want, in my view! Grin

for yourself? Chamomille tea. cook in a pot on the stove, use about 4 bags per litre and let sit for about 10 min. then pour into your bath.

congratulations!

Congratulations! Euan is my dads name, it is a great name :)

I recommend handfuls of salt and a hefty sprinkle of lavender oil.

Don't you have to be careful with lavender oil?

'As with many other essential oils, pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid using lavender essential oil. It is also recommended that diabetics stay away from lavender oil. It may also cause allergic reactions to people having sensitive skin. Some people may also witness nausea, vomiting and headaches due to usage of lavender oil.'

My midwife recommended chamomile flowers and lavender tied up in a muslin like a giant teabag. No idea if it helped healing, but the baths were fab. I'm sure a few drops of each type of oil would have the same effect.

Oh, and congratulations!

I used lavender oil after the births of both DDs 2 and 3 - just a few drops in the bath, made me smell nice (well, if you like lavender, I guess!) and was a good excuse to have a little time resting by myself. I didn't know about the info PunkatHeart's provided though - did avoid lavender in pregnancy, didn't know about bfeeding. The mws knew I was using lavender oil, and didn't say no. I suppose it's quite diluted in a bath.

Many congratulations! Euan is a lovely name.

I can't see it doing any harm in small quantities either but was told when I was pregnant by a few people that lavender wasn't a good idea.

My midwife recommended Badaedas (sp).

Congratulations!!
My mw (at parent craft class last week) recommended a few drops of lavender oil into a warm bath,no salt apparently.

I used a few drops of lavender and tea tree, and sat in it 3 times a day...worked wonders. Congradulations on baby euan!
