I was looking online for a baby shower gift for a friend of a friend and came across these

Does anyone wear these? I actually think some of the slogans are quite cute/funny, but I couldn't imagine wearing them out in public with slogans like "Daddy made this" and "All I wanted was a backrub"!

There are so many though, there must be a market for it I guess?

I'm genuinely curious, have you worn these type of t-shirts when pregnant?

nethunsreject · 24/05/2011 10:32

No, I haven't.

They are not to my taste, but I do loike the loading one!

QuoththeRaven · 24/05/2011 10:33

some of them are quite funny, i've never worn them though, don't think i would unless i found a really good one. warning though, cafepress take absolutely ages to deliver and the delivery charge is about half the cost of the tshirt.

CrapBag · 24/05/2011 10:34

Not something I or anyone I know would wear tbh.

I think the one where there is a picture of a baby looking like its saying boo is quite funny. I wouldn't wear it though.

HaughtyChuckle · 24/05/2011 10:34

some are a bit :O but I like some of them

when I was preg tried buying a white 'mr bump' t-shirt but yoiu could see my stretch marks through it Blush bad times

BulletWithAName · 24/05/2011 10:35

God no.

Tommy · 24/05/2011 10:36

I wore things like that - at home as PJs
Smile

Aworryingtrend · 24/05/2011 10:40

Grin at bad times. Thanks for the warning re Cafe Press Quoth, i haven't heard of them til it came up on Google.

Aworryingtrend · 24/05/2011 10:40

I hadn't...

QuoththeRaven · 24/05/2011 10:41

bought a couple of tshirts from there, took bloody ages (plus the tshirts smelt quite bad so have to be washed before being worn)

manicbmc · 24/05/2011 10:41

I like the one that says 'it's not mine' Grin

QuoththeRaven · 24/05/2011 10:43

outing myself as a big geek, but i would probably wear "the force is strong with this one" (as pj top maybe :P )

Lulumama · 24/05/2011 10:45

I like the 'we're hoping for a pony'

Dh used to say to people, well, they've said it's a girl, but I'm hoping for a puppy !!

mostly, they are unspeakably naff

FizzyMakeFeelNice · 24/05/2011 10:48

I like this one www.cafepress.co.uk/+say_anything_stupid_maternity_tshirt,390296219

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 24/05/2011 10:49

I love the "loading please wait" one, because dh is a big computer geek and it seems appropriate to us...

berryfreeze · 24/05/2011 10:51

gosh there are so many of them, I never wore anything like that when I was pregnant, though I really do like the ones with just the hands and feet on, think they are quite cute

HeidiKat · 24/05/2011 11:02

I like the little hand and footprint one. I wore t shirts like this and this when I was pregnant as I am no skinny minnie and wanted to make it obvious in that awkward in between starting to show and full on bump stage that I was actually pregnant and not just fat.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 24/05/2011 11:05

I remember a thread on here where someone had seen a baby wearing a tee shirt that said 'Daddy only wanted a blow job' I thought that was hideous.

DELHI · 24/05/2011 11:07

I hate them - utterly naff and twee in the most vomit-inducing way. Are they really for grown-ups??

extremepie · 24/05/2011 11:09

I wore one when I was pregnant that had a sparkly cupcake on the front and 'bun in the oven' written on it.

I thought it was cute but one of my friends called it my trailer trash t-shirt!

I only wore it because I was at that 4-5 month is-she-pregnant-or-just-a-bit-fat stage and I wanted people to know which!

Aworryingtrend · 24/05/2011 11:16

Shock at trailer trash t-shirt! With friends like that, eh?!

We have been TTC for ages so I can imagine that when I do finally get pregnant I will get utterly carried away and want the whole world to know! I might avoid this one though Hmm

I like the hand and footprints.
Quite the Superpower and 'I'm gowing a baby - what have you done today' ones.
The pony one made me snort with laughter.
Also laughed at the "I don't care about your labour stories" one.

Not keen on most of the others.
Don't think I'd have worn one - unless it was on my commute and I was trying to guilt people into letting me sit down .

sparkle12mar08 · 24/05/2011 11:21

The 'loading...' one is okay and I rather like the 'I don't care...' one on the front page, but unless you know the mum to be very, very well indeed I would steer well clear of anything like this. As others have said, they are very naff and rather trailer -rash-y, sorry.

Aworryingtrend · 24/05/2011 11:22

I wasn't thinking of buying one for the Mum sparkle! I think they are an acquired taste, certainly. They just came up on google when I was looking for a gift.
