Package arrived today:

Bohica
Name of town
County

That's it, no house number nor postcode.

Postie knocked on the door & checked I am infact Bohica & hand delivered the amazing, never would have been delivered with no returns address parcel, purely delivered on our posties good memory.

Christmas tip firmly earned for postie but what feedback advice for Ebayer?

Is your address correct on your PayPal account because that is where the parcel is supposed to go to that address.

Maybe you should check it!

Glad you got it.

Bohica · 23/05/2011 21:16

My paypal address is completly correct, I order far to much a few bits every week from Ebay & that's why the poor postie remembered my surname & address!

OMG! What a fab postie you have!

LittleMissFlustered · 23/05/2011 22:04

Pint for the postie! My mum had a postie like that. When they moved there was a balls up with their redirection and it took weeks to be sorted, postie did a 'lercle' redirect of his own, and just relabelled everything as it came through the small local PO.

The post office can be surprisingly fantastic. A nurse I know once received a thank you card sent to 'The surgery by the supermarket on the Willow Road'. Very sweet!

LRDTheFeministDragon · 23/05/2011 22:14

My cousin used to get things sent to him with nothing but his postcode and his name - the postie knew whose it was! And the village I live in doesn't have house numbers, only names - they still always get it right. I am impressed. Smile

RitaMorgan · 23/05/2011 22:15

I'd give neutral feedback for that to be honest, very shoddy!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 23/05/2011 22:16

Wow! How good is your postman.

Reminds me of when I was writing out christmas cards for my Grandma. It was a very stressful job that required much drinking of alcoholic beverages. There was one friend of hers that lived in America, couldnt for the life of me find an address. My Grandma told me to write out the envelope to

Grandma's friend.
Los Angeles.
USA.

She insisted that her friend would get it...

i have spoken to my local sorting office on occassion in the past and they seem to know who people are and where they live.very impressive.

Bohica · 23/05/2011 22:30

I am very impressed. I also like the way he knows I never hear/ answer the front door so always calls through the back gate Smile

The seller has a 100% positive selling feedback so I would feel a bit mean giving a neutral, I was thinking of sending a how in hells name did you imagine I would receive that then email?

Loving all the positive postie stories Grin

What a lovely postie.

Mine is a nightmare. Only brings letters addressed to "Bill" and I still have no idea who he is.

And always terrifies my cats cooing at them through the window.

sharbie · 23/05/2011 22:34

mine used to post dog biscuits through the letterbox too Smile

FabbyChic · 23/05/2011 22:36

I wouldn't leave a neutral I would tell them though that you were lucky to get it.

Bohica · 23/05/2011 22:39

This postie is much beter than the last one. He used to leave those little red rubber bands on my front step.

We collected them up & made a rubber ball & then gave it to him for christmas instead of the normal cash tip

over the last couple of days I have suddenly become fascinated with ebay.

I've bought a rug, have several items on watch and I am bidding for four different things

Now searching round house for suitable junk stuff to sell

Absolute joy

LRDTheFeministDragon · 23/05/2011 22:42

Grin ABF your granny sounds hilarious.

ReadyToDrink · 23/05/2011 22:44

... Are you supposed to tip your postie? [wide-eyed]

Joolyjoolyjoo · 23/05/2011 22:45

Top marks for the postie! Mine often gives me parcels intended for my dad, as he knows we are related, and that dad is never up that early.

Bad show from the ebayer, though. You were lucky to get it

zipzap · 23/05/2011 22:46

I once sent a card without realising I'd only put half the address on the envelope - just the family name, the house number but no road name and first part of town name, meaning to check rest of the address as I'd forgotten it.

Was also sending some photos to them and others so got photos done, popped in envelopes and stuck in postbox forgetting to add the extra important details to the address. Was horrified when I realised what I'd done...

Letter turned up at the right place after a couple of days! We were all pretty amazed...

Bohica · 23/05/2011 22:53

We tip the postie, the binmen & the window cleaner.

The binmen get a case of beer - great way to get extra post xmas rubbish taken away & I now never have to drag my bin to the bottom of the drive because they now collect it from the side of the house.

Postie & window cleaners get a £10 tip.

zip glad to hear your photos arrived

I was walking down the next road to mine the other week and the postman stopped me to give me a package he was about to deliver, it was mine, but the odd thing is, I had never seen him before in my entire life Confused.

Don't know whether to be impressed or a little freaked out tbh.

Your postie was very good though, seems quite amazing that it got through. I was amazed at the posties in the bad weather we had the last two years, we didn't miss any mail afaicr.
