Yeah, except that walking 2 miles with one child, one adult is not too bad. Walking 2 miles with one adult and 2 children, one of whom is autistic and is constantly trying to escape from his pushchair, it becomes incredibly stressful!

I'm not doing that 4 times a day!

Buses not an option for us as DS2 does not like them and will most likely scream all the way there and back, plus quite costly when used 4 times a day!

Not to mention that 2 miles is quite a long way for a 4 year old to walk.
Arrrrg!
Just another facet of parenthood seemingly designed to make life more difficult!

a mum i know has a child in nursery and one in yr one at one school and yr two at a different school they have not been given a place at school one or two for the nursey child. so the borough seem to think she can be in 3 places at once with 3 children under 8. none of them are old enough to walk alone, and she is a sinlge parent. its insane.

Badmummy101, and I bet the other two schools keep saying that her childs punctuality is slipping Angry.
They should at least provide a free taxi.

oh my god is this the english system.. you dont automatically get a place in your local primary???

that explains the mad panic re places.

in scotland you get a place at you closest school by default and if you want a different one you apply for it.. your default place is held till the results of your request are known
