To park in mother and baby space when 39 weeks pregnant?

I had to get into my car via the boot and climbing over 2 rows of seats today as I parked in a normal space and then cars parked too close to me on both sides for me to get my bump in the doors. I couldn't wait for them to come back; could have been all day and I had to collect DC2 from nursery.
Will I be hated if I use mother & baby space if there are no end of row spaces available? Climbing over the seats nearly killed me with braxton hicks but unfortunately didn't bring on labour!

i think you should use them
YANBU at all!

There was a porche next to me in the waitrose car park - two seater - no car seats - i did 'sniff'

I have been using them since week 29, I'm too huge to even try squeezing. After a few mean looks from judgy folk I did put the new baby carseat in the car though, although I suspect this just makes me look mental!

Or like I've forgotton my baby.

YANBU - I did it when I was heavily pregnant .

What is it about waitrose parentand baby spaces often see sporty little numbers parked there - not a child seat in sight !

Going to say something next time Grin

I wondered this from about 20wks because sciatica was so bad. Am now also 39 weeks and certainly could do with some extra room to get the massive bump out of the car (I keep misjudging how big it is and hitting it off things and people when I turn around hehe). I don't think it would be unreasonable to use parent and child space when obviously pregnant, but I've not had the guts to try it yet in case someone does say something.

I agree that you're probably more deserving of the use of the space then someone with, say, a single 7 year old with them.

I had a polite word with a lady who had parked in a P&C space last week (the space very closest to the shop doors) who gave me a longwinded excuse of how she wouldn't normally do it but she had her dog with her (true, there was a Yorkie on the passenger seat) and she wanted to be able to keep an eye on her while she was in the shop Hmm
