To tell DH that it really isn't funny?

A while ago DH got annoyed because we kept getting mail for the people who used to live here a year after we moved in so one day he saw the post man coming up the garden path, hid behind the door and when the letters started pushing through DH grabbed them really aggressively from the inside of the letter box screaming "GIVE THEM TO ME!" and then made chomping and snaring noises as if he was eating them. The postman jumped a mile and shouted "jesus christ" before backing out of the garden quickly.

So this time we bough found it funny and I was creased up for ages laughing. However he decided it would be funny to do it a tak-away leaflet guy, same proceedure but this time the young guy shouted "dickhead" and thumped the front door. I told DH enough was enough and to give it a rest and he didn't do it for ages but this morning he was in a daft mood and did it the paper boy and literally RAN out of the garden and down the street. I don't think he even finished his round. He was only about 13.

I'm really angry with him, as usual he's taken it too far. DH says if I don't like it I don't have to watch!! AIBU to insist he stops doing it as it just isn't funny anymore?

I might leave a gift out for my postie too. Or fellate him through the letter box. That would make him jump too though, I guess.

stillfrazzled · 21/05/2011 16:41

Olifin your postie has an unusual letter delivery technique, then? Grin

deepbluewave · 21/05/2011 16:43

Just make sure its not the 13 year old paper boy!

HeadfirstForHalos · 21/05/2011 16:46

"Olifin your postie has an unusual letter delivery technique, then? grin"

Haha! Nearly covered my screen in tea Grin

Olifin · 21/05/2011 16:51

Shock deep

stillfrazzled...are they not supposed to do that then? Tsk. I did wonder if it was a bit odd.

HeadfirstForHalos · 21/05/2011 16:56

I wouldn't mind my postie using that delivery method, he's not half badGrin

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 16:56

Grin at 1970's porn film image fellating the postie.

stillfrazzled · 21/05/2011 18:38

Mine farts the letters through. I suspected he didn't fancy me but this confirms it.

[Actually just shoves envelopes through, creasing as many as he can in the process, dumps parcels on the doorstep and fucks off sharpish. Talking on Bluetooth headset the whole time, is multitasker]

stickytoffeepud · 21/05/2011 18:43

jesus, and you live with this cretin???

Merrylegs · 21/05/2011 18:56

I cannot believe this is real, but just in case this knobhead actually exists.

  • My 14 year old gets up at 6 am on a Sunday morning and delivers your papers. He is paid £6. If you did this to him he wouldn't be delivering your paper any more and I would report you to the police.

But actually, I don't think this ever happened. Did it?

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 19:03

Hehe for reporting him to the police on behalf of your 14 YO merrylegs Grin

And what should the OPs DH be charged with then?

'Alarming with intent'?

Talk about OTT.

IloveJudgeJudy · 21/05/2011 19:03

I have two DC who do paper rounds and I do not find this funny at all. I would definitely have gone round to the OP's house and had words. I have delivered free papers in the past myself and would not have found this funny.

If you do not want leaflets delivered, then please have a sign on your door.

I may even have gone to the police. I would have complained to the paper shop, come around to your house as would my DH.

I think there is definitely something wrong with both your DH and you. Him for doing it and you for laughing along with him.

stillfrazzled · 21/05/2011 19:04

Technically speaking, what he did prob counts as 'causing harassment, alarm or distress'.

Not saying I would report, mind.
