I "got rid of" a "friend" recently and I've never felt better. She was really bringing me down. Fed up hearing from others that she'd said this or that about me. And I can't say she was even nice to my face. Can't understand why I put up with it for so long. Think about it for a bit of time and if you still feel the same, go forward without them.

Thanks mum75 - I really do feel I am better off without them. It's quite empowering, if a bit sad, to realise at 33 years old you don't care if they think you are sad/boring!
