sorry i've blabbed on about something irrelevant. i shoudln't ahev said it here

OP i hope you get your friends dog sorted

TheLadyEvenstar · 20/05/2011 12:53

Personally I would like to see the useless owners who get fed up with their dogs pts in favour of the poor dogs themselves.

Couple that I have up on Google you might not have tried (I don't know anything about these in terms of background/no kill etc - just was googling dog rescues around here anyway recently)... Second Chance is in Chellaston, MADSODS is in Mackworth - then you could always look in Nottingham as well if you're really stuck.

Like I say - I don't know the inns and outs of rescue places, just happened to be looking for a dog recently myself and they've been coming up when I've been searching.

Thanks everyone. :) I'm wavering between pity for the dog and being incredulous that so many people give up on their pets. I'm seeking to move too... and would rather me and my 2 DDs in a caravan with a chemical loo and no running water than lose my dogs. :(

Anyhow...

Have pm'ed TLES in reply to hers with a host of questions that I will absoltely need answering before I can start trying to help. I'll happily do my best but can't perform miracles and certainly not without some solid and HONEST info from the owner.

TLES has passed them on and we can only hope and cross our fingers that the owner responds and LETS me help her.

And Mumswang, no, there is NEVER justification for killing a healthy dog, EVER. Rescue doesn't just mean kennels, it can mean a foster home like mine, and a good rescue does so much more than offer a dog mere bed and breakfast. :)

TheLadyEvenstar · 20/05/2011 14:25

Vall, I have sent them as I said and I really hope she gets back to you. I am really angered by this tbh, more than I thought I would be.

As you know you were one of the first to warn me what hard work Lily would be when I first got her especially with her background. But I have put a lot of time and effort into her and nothing would make me get rid of her, I don't understand some peoples logic. To me my pup is part of my family and I wouldn't get fed up and get rid of my boys.

In a years time when I move and have a garden I want to be able to help more with rescue dogs. But for the time being I can just help in little ways like this.

Dunno TLES... there are times when I could happily get rid of my girls!

*Note - my dogs are all boys.

:o

I'll do my best but I fear with people like this there may not be as much cooperation as I need.

TheLadyEvenstar · 20/05/2011 14:35

Vall Wink I know what you mean.

I am not sure she will cooperate. I don't know her as such only through a chat forum and via fb. She put a status up saying she couldn't find anywhere to take him which is when I contacted you. I remembered her getting him just September gone and was almost instantly infuriated because she should have thought about it before hand.

If she was closer I am sure my sister would have had him but without knowing his background I would be dubious as she has 2 children and 2 cats.

Yes I know bit of a contradiction as I have 2 dc and a cat thankfully Lily gets on with all of them and me Grin

On a side not Vall, how on earth do I stop my princess sleeping on my bed???

OP posts:
StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 20/05/2011 15:07

Buy her a bed of her own?

It could be worse, TLES - I keep finding that dh and Coco (precious first dog) have sneaked off upstairs together at bedtime, and are snuggled up in MY BED!! She is such a floozy. Grin
