5 weeks ago I went in for scoliosis (curved spine) correction surgery. It didnt go to plan as I was supposed to have the top part corrected aswell as have 8 ribs cut down and made smaller to create a waist shape to match the side that looks normal.
When my surgeon moved my spine at the top to correct it the sensors monitoring my nerve connections went down and indicated that I had lost feeling in my legs. I had to be woken up on the operating table with my back cut open so I could inform them of when I could feel them stabbing my legs. Apparantly I was paralysed for an hour and by that time I had been worked on for ten hours so the surgeon decided to leave it at that.
I woke up with my bottom lip chewed up because I had the breathing tube taped to my mouth and they couldnt see that I was munching away on my lips!
All in all I'm still quite pleased with the results! (and very pleased with being able to gross and astound people with my cool story)

Thank you she is a monster toddler now though.

I was going to say scoliosis surgery a friend had that when we were at school. Bloody serious stuff without the added scariness! Hope you're on the road to recovery & don't need any more surgeries.

Thank you Vall. I'm looking forward to being able to walk the dog again, especially since we have moved within a stones throw of her favourite woods, so there'll be no more tearing my car apart because I used to have to drive her there!

I added a couple of pics today, I like seeing pics of people, always so different to what I expect. It is like when you meet people from forums and the ones who are bolshy take no crap types online are the sweetest fluffy people in real life. Well, sometimes.
