Very much SF, I couldn't stand the man! he seems to have grown up since marrying Tasha and having his son. He now comes across as an intelligent, witty and altogether lovely fellow and I can hardly believe I've just written that about him Grin

ScousyFogarty · 20/05/2011 15:51

There was a tragic presenter on 2. Probably before your time. He was a scouser; and the poor sould got throat cancer. He used to be on prior to Wogan. Sadly I have forgot his name.

I remember: The Bog-eyed Jog bloke - Ray someone I think? Very funny.

madwomanintheattic · 20/05/2011 16:03

janet and john is awful. other than that i used to quite enjoy my drive to work listening to terry. it was better than that madwoman sarah and her beeding cats, anyway. i was always most grateful when she handed over, with the threat to come back again the following day 'if she was spared'.

please tell me she's not on now?

i was a bit Hmm when ce took over. i loathed him with a passion for tgif. immature twat. but in reality i discovered i actually quite like him now. and jonathan ross too. he was the devil's work as a beginner. these days (bar the ridiculous russell brand) i find him quite funny too.

god, i was born 40, really.

ScousyFogarty · 20/05/2011 16:11

Yes, Ray Moore or More. Great fun. He was only young. It was a shock.

I think he had the spot which sarah Kennedy took over. Then there is that Scots chap; who seems to have been on at 3am since the year dot.

I listen 5-live and local radio early in the morning now. Nothing against Chris Evans and I like Ken Bruce

Wogan has been doing this for years on his breakfast show, does it on his Sunday Show now. Very funny and used to make me late for work

pinkthechaffinch · 20/05/2011 16:21

I like Chris Evans, think he was a good replacement for TW, except when he goes on about cars and Ken Bruce is OK but Steve Wright needs killing slowly.

Dh unaccountably likes him though and enjoys annoying me of an evening by repeating whatever bloody 'factoids' he can remember.

madwomanintheattic · 20/05/2011 16:21

oh god, the scottish chap. if he was on i knew i was on the road too early. i timed my drive by whose show was on when i got in the car, and could work out who would be on when i got there. Grin

i used to really hate it when they took holiday and someone else took over. it ruined my entire day. how very dare they have a day) or, the horror, a week) off? i used to wonder if it would be possible to take time off at the same time as tel. in passing, y'know.

madwomanintheattic · 20/05/2011 16:22

steve wright was ok in the afternoon. morning is way too early to deal with that kind of nonsense.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 21/05/2011 01:27

I think it's Vanessa Feltz before CE now, but I've yet to be awake for hear her show.

tulpe · 21/05/2011 02:49

I like Chris Evans and I don't mind Steve Wright. The person I absolutely loathe is Chris Tarrant who has been filling in for SW these last 2 weeks. Awful man full of self-importance, not the least bit amusing and talks all over his guests answers to his inane questions.

spiderslegs · 21/05/2011 03:03

Has no-one listened to Women's hour drama 'Incridible Women' this week at 19:45? I've been pissing my pants all the way through it.

Acekicker · 21/05/2011 06:36

Hamish and Dougal would have Janet and John in a fight any day Grin

madwomanintheattic me and colleagues used to assess our workload by what was on when we got home. Everyone was hooked on R4 comedy and then the Archers, if you were still driving when Front Row it was a bad sign and if you were catching the 15 min drama after that you were definitely doing too much!

TeamLemon · 21/05/2011 06:44

I liked J&J, but couldn't quite believe they got away with the filth at 8am on national radio.
My favourite has to be where there is the church bizarre and Mrs Bickerdyck has a stall selling clothes for pets. John helps by taking her doggy fashion round the back of the church hall whilst the vicar vicar took photos for the church magazine.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 21/05/2011 07:53

No one can beat Humphrey Littleton's comments about the lovely Samantha.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 21/05/2011 10:31

I've always liked Chris Tattant. Except now he's on radio 2 filling in...I think he's just not a bbc man.
I do like Richard Madely filling in for CE though.
Spiderslegs, I've not heard women's hour...what's it on?

ScousyFogarty · 21/05/2011 10:42

Solo Woman Hour (BBC RADIO 4 10am weekdays) Jeni Murray is a great broadcaster and interviewer. She takes the womans point of view; but, in my opinion, in a fair and balanced way.

They had a sing contest for broadcasters Jeni won it; with Tony Livesy from 5-live coming second

I find C tarrant a bit hard to take and hes not really a BBC type.

I am loathing Chris Tarrant on Radio 2 on the school run!! He is awful, self-important and often rude to the guests. Not right at all for the show. I agree that Richard Madeley makes a good stand in, totally different persona than on the t.v.

I really enjoy Chris Evans in the morning, he makes the morning school run bearable and DD2 lives for The Candy man on fridays Smile He comes across as both witty and charming, I never thought I would have that impression of him and he seems so perfect for the show! Cheery, funny, upbeat and a great interviewer.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 21/05/2011 15:47

Thanks SF, may have to move the dial across a bit! :)
