Amazon Algorithm Price War Leads to $23.6-Million-Dollar Book Listing

breatheslowly · 19/05/2011 18:10

Apparently Amazon has a programme that sellers can use for pricing where the seller can price compared to other sellers. This can cause pricing problems if one prices at £0.10 more than another and another sets it at 3% more than the first - the prices sort of run away with themselves.

I saw some academic type text books on Amazon Kindle store for £3.5 k! Atleast i assume thats what they were, I didnt understand most of the title never mind the book itself :o

piprabbit · 20/05/2011 11:19

coastgirl, why not buy the book, read it, then sell it on. Even if you buy for £30 and sell for £25 it still won't have cost you more than an average paperback...and you may just make a pound or two.
