Botox Mum

SockShitter · 18/05/2011 04:25

Im sure I read that story or a similiar one a few months ago and the mum was waxing her little girls bits. Even though she only had fine downy hair it was to stop it growing at all or something

I read that as well. The girl didn't like it either. Letting strangers wax her little girl is sexual abuse IMO. Fucking sick

SockShitter · 18/05/2011 04:29

Also I agree with the people who took the child away. She may have stopped if she was being told to by the authorities but she wil clearly cause this child many many pychological problems in the future. Her obsession with her appearence could cuase her to have body dysmorphia and eating disorders.

lljkk · 18/05/2011 05:08

Did anyone read the link about Bree Evans, British girl undergoing the same stuff at 7yo, including home tattoos? Shock

cory · 18/05/2011 08:03

besides, do we know that the mother hadn't been warned and ignored the warnings?

TheLadyEvenstar · 18/05/2011 08:57

lljkk, I read that it is sickening. This was a comment I added to the article.

The majority of beauty pageant mums are the ones who are lacking in self confidence and are drastically over weight. They push their children from such a tender age that the child knows no difference. There is a programme on sky called "Little Miss Perfect" out of curiosity I watched it once, it was more than sickening.

A 5yr old being given a fake tan, manicure, going through gruelling rehearsals, wearing clothes which can only be described as something I would expect to see on a prostitute for the section called "Wow wear". Just so she could "WOW" the judges. All the fake hair "flippers" better known as false teeth, and make up is so wrong.

FGS people let your children have their innocence, if you want to parade anyone around half naked do it to yourself not your babies.

Yes she had made a comment about the waxing, something along the lines of giving her "virgin waxes" so that "she never develops pubic hair".

Who in their right mind thinks about their childs private parts like that?
Why would you not want her to have pubic hair?

Very disturbing.

TotemPole · 18/05/2011 11:03

She says she wasn't doing anything illegal, is that true? Is it legal in US to give a child botox?

I agree it's abusive and pointless. 8 years olds don't have wrinkles.

The waxing is abusive too.

There was an article saying they thought the botox wasn't a true story because there was no such person of that name in that area. So maybe that's what they mean about not being who she said she was.

Nixea · 18/05/2011 11:06

I know what the mum did was misguided at best but she obviously did love her daughter...even if she did have the most inappropriate way of showing it. TBH I feel sorry for everyone involved. What she did to her daughter was unforgivable but it must be destroying her to think she'll now face a future without her.

alizee · 18/05/2011 11:06

"Ms Campbell, a part-time beautician who also administers Botox on herself, claimed she only gave her daughter the treatment because when they were applying for pageants, and that her child asked her for it.

She said: 'We were getting into the pageants. I knew she was complaining about her face, having wrinkles, and things like that. When I brought it up to Britney she was all for it

Ms Campbell added: 'The few times that we did it, it would lessen the lines. They wouldn't completely disappear, she's a kid. And we don't do so much to where it's going to make a big difference. Just on the lines.'
Ms Campbell also admitted to waxing her daughter in the name of pageant success.
'They call it little fluffy hair,' she said. 'They get judged on all that stuff. It's a tough world, the pageant world, I'm telling you. The kids are harsh.'

Eight-year-old Britney added: 'I just don't think it's ladylike to have hair on your legs. I did that one time. It was super, super hard. It hurts.
Asked if she would like to be waxed again, the child quickly said: 'No.' "

what lines??! seriously? sorry but that's wrong, this poor child will have such a distorted image of herself when she gets older..

Pagwatch · 18/05/2011 11:11

Tbh I think that banning child pageants would be a pretty marvellous idea.

I think pageants are a vile thing to inflict upon a child.

SpeedyGonzalez · 19/05/2011 14:37

I agree with pag. And it is a sickness that these poor girls are being forced into an adult version of 'beauty'. There is no room for them to enjoy and appreciate the glowing dewy natural beauty of childhood, which, ironically, is what so many adults long for.

Also what message does it send to these impressionable girls about what it is to be female? Let alone the message it sends to boys.

BelleDameSansMerci · 19/05/2011 14:42

Also agree with Pag. Why on earth does anyone think these "pageants" are ok?

stickytoffeepud · 19/05/2011 14:45

no one knows the full details so we cant say if its better for the little girl or not

JeremyKylesPetProject · 19/05/2011 14:48

How a mother could do that to her own flesh and blood is something I can't even begin to comprehend. I was ready to say that maybe she has learned her lesson but thinking back to my own childhood with an appearance obsessed mother maybe separation from her daughter is for the best. A child deserves the right to grow up free to be themselves. They don't need the burden of vanity placed on their shoulders. They should be playing, getting dirty, having fun... anything that lets them be. I only hope the damage (physically and mentally) isn't permanent.
I find child beauty pagents revolting. How can a parent offer their child up for criticism?

AmyStake · 19/05/2011 21:41

It's ok everyone! Botox mum made it all up. For $200.

Her real name is Sheena Upton and The Sun paid her $200 to take photographs and provide a fake story. The daughter was medically examined at UCLA and they confirmed that she has never had botox nor any waxing treatments "Kerry" claimed she'd had.

Full story including Court docs.

She was willing to get her daughter taken away from her for $200? She's either really desperate or really, really stupid. Hmm

SockShitter · 20/05/2011 00:20

People are so shit

As for "Good Morning America" sources connected with Upton claim she was promised $10,000 to appear. We do not know how much she was offered for "Inside Edition.

Why would they give ger 10,000 for something that would be child abuse!?

TheLadyEvenstar · 20/05/2011 00:27

hmmm not sure I believe this version but we shall see I guess.

Hasn't this already been exposed as a hoax? Wasn't the mother paid to make this all up? I am sure I saw the thread earlier on here. Don't know how to do that link to thread thing Blush

FurKnickersAndNoCoat · 20/05/2011 00:32

Oops, that will teach me to read page 2 before posting.
