In my big fat gypsy wedding,is it just me or do the little girls dancing ( after their first holy communion) at the party, really need to lose the big bellies before they can pull off the dreses( as well as age another 10 years of course)

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 17/05/2011 11:33

how old were the 'little' girls?

IMissSleep · 17/05/2011 11:35

I'm more shocked at the actual dancing than anything else!

misdee · 17/05/2011 11:35

arent they like, 8yrs old?

BelovedCunt · 17/05/2011 11:35

the fact that you are even watching it means you are sneery and spiteful. so yes yabu

Knickerbockerglorybuns · 17/05/2011 11:36

I know I am BU, I've already said that.

OP posts:
BelovedCunt · 17/05/2011 11:39

well then why ask the questiong?

tallulahxhunny · 17/05/2011 11:42

You need to look around you more!! majority of kids in my daughters school are obese, its really sad :( I dont think it is right that children be put on diets but really ...

Mumswang · 17/05/2011 11:45

hang on 'kids' aren't meant to have washboard flat tummys are they? they're meant to be, y'know, round and kid like aren't they?

the older girls in the programme seem to attained what you think of as a more ideal body shape so i wouldn;t worry about them

Mamaz0n · 17/05/2011 11:48

Dont watch the show so not sure but i would say that 8year olds shouldn't have defined bodies. they should have little pot bellies.

they dont; have to "pull off" a dress, they are children.

The dress shouldn't be considered in the same way it would be on an adult. where the wearers body will define how it ultimately looks.

thisisyesterday · 17/05/2011 11:49

well you already know you are being unreasonable, and mean.

so why even post? are you hoping that there will be likeminded spiteful, nasty people like you on here?

If there are I doubt they'll come on here and gloat about it

Yeah let's ridicule little girls' bodies! Why confine obsession about body size and shape just to women? Start 'em young!

Mamaz0n · 17/05/2011 11:53

What i mean is that they shouldn't have defined "womanly" bodies. not at 8.

They are children and should have childrens bodies.

tallulahxhunny · 17/05/2011 11:53

btw i wasnt talking bout 8 year olds, im talking about 10-11 year olds who are really really overweight, I do think it is a case of neglect. One 10 year old i know gets a chip buttie from the roll shop for her breakfast before going into school :(

stickytoffeepud · 17/05/2011 11:53

i dont think the fat gypsies will give a toss what anyone thinks anyway

tallulah......its neglect is it? if the CHILD herself chooses to spend money on a chip buttie??Confused

Gooseberrybushes · 17/05/2011 11:55

"toddlers should have pot bellies because they lack the muscle control to hold their stomachs in
but by 8 they should have flat tummies and it is 'normal' to be able to see their ribs"

this is right, I think it's dangerous to think "all children are supposed to be fat aren't they"

I thought from the age of about seven to 13 they're supposed to be skinny with occasional outwards just before they go up

don't care a bit about the stupid programme or about the choices people make as adults

but i think it's dangerously unhealthy to believe children are supposed to be fat

Hullygully · 17/05/2011 11:56

bum to you

Mamaz0n · 17/05/2011 11:56

OP was suggesting that these girls didn't have the figure to "pull off" a dress.
A dress that i am presuming is a little more adult than your typical 8 year old would wear.

thisisyesterday · 17/05/2011 11:58

i don't believe that children are supposed to be fat.

I also don't believe that the "little girls....really need to lose the big bellies"

i doubt they buy the food, cook it, serve it up. Children of that age cannot help if they are not given a healthy diet and plenty of exercise, ergo you cannot start spiteful messages on a forum saying they ought to "lose the big bellies"....

GypsyMoth · 17/05/2011 11:59

puberty is starting earlier and earlier, and accounts for body change. surprised to find my own girls developed quicker than i did

Gooseberrybushes · 17/05/2011 11:59

well absolutely and this programme sounds appalling, whatever it is

Gooseberrybushes · 17/05/2011 12:00

i thought it was starting earlier because girls are heavier, not the other way around

Gooseberrybushes · 17/05/2011 12:01

ie the body change accounts for the early puberty, not the early puberty accounting for the body change
