I don't care about the impact, I am reporting this family for benefit fraud

Was talking to my 'friend' over a few glasses of wine and things got round to money etc (me helping family member with rent)

Oh she says, I help my son out with his rent every month, later turning out she lives with her boyfriend who claims full housing benefit, her dd works full time and lives with them but at the same time she rents a house in her own right that her son lives in rent free (also works full time in an ok job)

That is taking the biscuit and plain greedy. Benefits are there for those who need them and that is taking the Biscuit

I only think you can do it morally if you're perfect yourself and have never broken any rules.

Otherwise I think people report out of jealousy.

And not a penny will go to someone more deserving.

Didyouever, sorry, but you're talking crap. People (on the whole) report because they see others breaking the law. Plain and simple. There will always be reasons people come up with to cheat the system, similarly there will be people who fall through the net and never get the help they are legally entitled to. But there's no excuse for stealing, and fraudulently claiming benefits is theft. If the OP feels she can't stand by and watch someone commit fraud, she shouldn't keep quiet just because she may not be perfect herself.
