My one year old has been up every hour at least all night. Ive been sat here being human dummy in my cold kitchen since 5am. Im exhausted and dont want to go to work but need the moola.

Hectic day, two school runs, driving and hard work! I dont want to go but I have too.

I have a perfectly valid reason to go back to bed as i can still drop off DC to chilminder but I feel so guilty.

Thanks for replies! Ive been a martyr many a time and gone into to work on less sleep more illness. I am just exhausted. My son doesnt really sleep that much tbh. Im going in this afternoon.

My baby is now full of beans (go figure!) and Im running on empty!

Alpine Pony, Ive had less than three hours very broken sleep and at 8am it feels like lunchtime, thats why I mentioned the 5am finally getting up time!

Tortoise, love you post btw!

So: Im going to work, no Im not the only woman to do this (never even implied I was) Im going to have two hours kip this morning then go in.

P.s I BF and Im happy to be human dummy, just not when he is teething on my titty. hope this helps Grin

P.s Im a domestic technician! (cleaner) and I don't like letting people down!

Im going in tommorrow morning and an hour this afternoon so as not to let people down. Luckily my clients are lovely and understanding but you would not believe how bad some people have been over illness and me not being able to clean their bathrooms! Grin

Hot shower, big coffee, off you go, early night and sleep when baby sleeps. Recover over the weekend.

It's too late now probably as OP is either not going in now or has already gone.

Re: double standards - women, stick up for yourselves and get the equality of caring/housework/working/whatever that you want. If blokey refuses, FFS, what are you living with?

All working mothers have been in your position. It's what happens. I would/have gone in. Not easy but I would save sick leave for when you are really sick.
I guess by this time you have already decided what you are going to do but in the current climate I wouldn't give any employer a reason to be miffed at me. Not going in at short notice is not great. You are tired not ill.

I've done it, depending on my workload I've gone in for the morning and left early or had the day off. It's happened twice in a year so try not to make a habit of it,

x-posted with you. I see you are going in!

At least it's Friday!
