Superstitions (sp) are fascinating not just a load of weird Mumbo-Jumbo.
Most of them have a historical basis like the No Shoes On a Table and Don't Use One Match to Light Three Candles?ciggies etc.
Unfortunately my life is Fecking ruled by them-takes forever to light my Christmas candles (lots) and by the time I've lit birthday cake candles they've nearly burned down.Note to self, buy a lighter.
I know IABU to believe in them but they are interesting-obviously uneducated peasantBlush

there was a bus driver in Peterboro who used to have a day off and stay
in bed on fri 13th.......thats taking it far too seriously, but if he was afraid he might have an accident;then the fear may have caused an accident.

I think its best to stay clear of susperstitions. When young I would never walk upstairs without throwing a woman over my shoulder. (Thats my story, anyway.)

Thank you all for the DD birthday wishes

So far Friday 13th,DD 13th birthday, this has happened,

DD ended up with 3 duplicate "welcome to teens" cups [literally all exactly the same] Grin

She has duplicate birthday cards from me, and my mum

She has a beautiful playboy perfume set from her auntie, she got changed had a spray etc, turns out it was the male aftershave set Grin, so now she is walking around smelling like a man

Good points though, her useless father, has very kindly not forgotten/ignored her birthday as usual, sent up a card with £50 in
She is going on holiday with her friend and friend family during half term, so a nice bit of spending money for her

Will update later, on the rest of Friday 13th, DD 13th Birthday Grin
