Could ELC Fuzzy Felt be any shitter?

They have taken a brilliant concept and worked really hard to make it as shit as possible.

1. Remove all elements of imaginative play: Sell in themed sets so the 'Home' set contains ready made beds, tables, shelves of books, side lamps. It's really just an assembly task.

1. Splodge horrid thick paint all over the felt so it doesn't stick and you can't layer it. It doesn't even lie flat. Do it shitly so you can't tell what half of the things are (is it a telephone? Is it a poodle? No! It's a pair of slippers!)

1. Package it in a flimsy box with a narrow end opening so children can't tidy it away. Make the plastic insert the wrong shape for the boards.

1. Be sure to theme your sets by gender. Remember: girls like princesses and boys like pirates. Make the girl set contain absolutely nothing but princesses and clothing. Shit clothing.

1. Make the whole thing cheap and nasty and, well, shit.

TOP TIP: Buy some cheap sheets of felt from a pound shop. Cut a strip off each and cut it in to lots of different shapes. My kids have had loads of fun making birds and houses and fish and cars and gardens and all sorts for a couple of quid. Much better than the ELC boxes of rubbish.

I know I am ranting, but FFS! Fuzzy Felt is a brilliant game that I remember playing a lot as a kid. Why would a children's toy shop go out of their way to make it so shit? Why??

Quite agree op. Turned in into one of the best toys to something quite useless and boring.

sims2fan, you say a catalogue from a couple of years ago, but you'll find that in recent catalogues they have changed the photos so they are not so gender stereotypical. surely that's a good thing? No? Just think it's strange you complained about something so old when it is obvious it had been corrected!

Oh well, glad they corrected it. I was more pointing out the kind of thing that I wrote but didn't get a response about. Good that they did something about it but quite poor communication not to acknowledge my letter in any way (and I was very polite in it too!).

Oh, did you mean strange for me to complain about something they changed? Because when I wrote the letter the catalogue I was talking about was the one that was out at the time I wrote the letter. So the photos were the current ones at that time, if that makes sense. It was ages ago that I wrote, but it still annoys me a bit that they never replied! Lol.

There was a big thread about it at the time and I gave people sneak previews to it because it wasnt out to the general public at the time.

Quenelle - where I live even ELC has closed down, leaving just ToysRArse. A more charmless place you could not hope to imagine. Never been able to get my son to show any interest in it at all!

I am really fed up with ELC. In recent times someone brough dd a pink glove. Why pink? As for their around the world game. Lets have a game with a map and cards for matching up capitals and countries. Lets leave our Dublin and Republic of Ireland. I don't imagine they sell many in their Irish stores! When i complained I was told game was based on simplifies nc maps. I really hope that is not true.
