AIBU to ask DH to handcuff me to stop me responding

to this comment on Facebook?

"Your fired!"

With no trace of irony and not from a youngster but a lady who has been a HT for two decades who is also married to another HT. My ex-boss in fact.

SATs week must be indeed taking its toll. If only allowances were made for the children.

It is so tempting to say something. Please tell me IABU to. Or if you can't find it in your heart to do so, then some piss-taking and preferably passive-aggressive replies would be most welcome Grin

As will you be for your atrocious punctuation.

captainbarnacle · 11/05/2011 19:34

trixy - I think that was the point?

trixymalixy · 11/05/2011 19:38

That was what I thought she should reply!!!!

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 19:38

I thought trixy was talking about my OP at first and was poised for a counter- attack on grammatical grounds but I think she was suggesting a response.

I will consider that one trixy, thank you.

trixymalixy · 11/05/2011 19:39

Sorry should have put it in quotation marks to be clearer!!

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 19:41

No worries trixy. My grammar and punctuation are generally atrocious but then I am not a HT.

What to do...

OP posts:
PiaThreeTimes · 11/05/2011 19:43

Ooooo, I couldn't resist that one! Go for it!

Wallace · 11/05/2011 19:49

I'm sure the occasional typographical error is allowed... :)

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 19:51

Could it be a typo though?

When I make typos they are more of thsi srot of persuaiton and usually much later in the evening when wine has been consumed I am tired.

Must. Resist.

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 19:52

Oh x-post Wallace. I was just thinking that.

I dislike people picking up on spelling and grammar, but in this case I think you're obligated (even if I didn't pick it up the first time I read it) Grin

SpeedyGonzalez · 11/05/2011 19:57

Aaargh! ZigZag, I hope you're a Yankee or I'll be hauling you in front of the Grand Jury for writing "obligated"! Grin

I like trixy's suggestion.

AgentZigzag · 11/05/2011 20:01

Eeek.

Huh speedy?

Are you saying I've got to go to court or something?

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 20:04

I have resisted so far.

I might just post this on the thread instead. Undecided.

OP posts:
SpeedyGonzalez · 11/05/2011 20:10

Well...ah feckit, I like your posts so I'll just let you off with a fine and a caution. . Now be off with you and mind your vocab, eh?

AgentZigzag · 11/05/2011 20:11

Big laughs at 'heinz site' Grin

AgentZigzag · 11/05/2011 20:12

x-posts.

That hasn't made me feel any better speedy, is it that it should only be used in a legal context?

Ninxy · 11/05/2011 20:19

The Grand Jury is here

It's located in the dank and rat-infested dungeons of Mumsnet Towers.

OP posts:
SpeedyGonzalez · 11/05/2011 20:20

Oh, sorry! 'Obliged' is the Brit term; 'obligated' is the Yankee one. It's tomayto vs tomahto. Grin

Hope you're feeling less traumatised? The Grand Jury really are very pro supersleuth WW2 double/ triple agents so if it happens again I shouldn't fret.

AgentZigzag · 11/05/2011 20:26

Oh thank you ninxy.

M'not scared of that grand jury (note no capitals), I hold all pedents in utter contempt who have no authoriteee over me Grin
