Buying alcohol for teenager

17 year old dd going to house parties where drink is drunk. She drinks other peoples, usually one or two wickeds(sp). She says.
Shes asked if she can take some wine to the next one.
On the basis that she will drink ,and that she is 17, and that they wont be leaving the houise (driving etc). Should I give her a bottle?

I'm looking at a low alcohol white. Something that looks right but only has 7-8% alcohol , compared to 11%plus. Naturally I wouldn't draw attention to this.
If I say no , or no buy your own ,she will and end up with 14% , the alcohol content in wine has gone up dramatically in the last few years.

If I say your not going, thats not realtic given her age.

Personally I would buy a bottle of wine. If you buy her low alcohol stuff she may be tempted to ditch it and drink the vodka which will probably be available at the party.
I agree with the poster pintofstella, I don't really regard a 17 year old as a child anyway. People fuss so much about underage drinking nowadays, when I was growing up it was totally normal.

I was going to suggest getting her a bottle of jacques. It's a cider, but tastes like apple juice and looks like a bottle of wine. It's 5.5%, but I think she'll like the taste and therefore won't ditch it just down to the percentage.

We allow my 15 nephew to drink at family bbqs and get togethers as we know he has a few drinks when he's out with friends, and if he's drinking with us, we can all keep an eye on him.

get her a bottle of White Zinfandel.

It's about 9%, and very delicious, but it is wine, not pop.

At 17, she can order wine with a meal in a restaurant anyway. make sure she has some dinner before she goes (tell her she'll vomit and embarrass herself if she doesn't) and make it a good stodgy meal.

Mine sussed out she could order wine with a meal as soon as it was legal, cannot remember what age that was.

I'm going for low alcohol, not alcohol free, because theres an ob. difference. White german stuff sounds good. She has been drunk, she says , so this is kind of tinkering and hoping that she stops at two(ish).
Big plate of pasta before she goes then .

sounds like a good plan to me... put something greasy in the pasta, sausages maybe?

Yeeessss Sarah Because that makes perfect sense doesnt it? Buy your son weed to stop him taking heroin or crack.

Son: "Mom, can you buy me some weed?"

Sarah: "No".

Son:"Fuck. That ruined that idea. I know, ill just inject smack instead".

If your son needed you to buy him weed because either he hasnt got money, or hadnt got a dealer, he still wouldnt be able to buy smack or crack would he.
Hmm
