I, for one, will not be promoting Gransnet to the silver surfers in our families.

MIL could do with it - it'd be interesting to see how she took to hearing a wider variety of views on things. Although I think she might not be able to take being told that she was BU.

Your response struck a chord with me because today (yesterday) was the anniversary of a very dear relative's death.

Being human, we didn't always see eye to eye - she could be very opinionated and I'm no saint.

But I'd give anything to hear her voice again even if she was using it to have a go at me.

All things must pass... but if only time didn't pass so quickly.

I an very glad that my DM and DMIL are both confused by computers!

Being able to come online and rant about them keeps our relationship in tact as I can be a bitch quite opinionated and do things my way!

MIL wouldn't speak to anyone, except to drily point out mistakes in their posts every now and then.

I'm on both. So far it seems fairly innocuous, with much bemoaning of how things have gone downhill since their day, lack of manners amongst the younger generations, diatribes against swearing, etc. Some of the natives are fighting amongst themselves to see who get to be the Queen Bee(s) and final arbiters of all things proper for Grans. I'm only 53, but I think I'll be spending more time on here than over on the other side "Waiting for God".
