YANBU, if a lemon tree is not something you have said you wanted or could be assumed to be a perfect gift to match your personality or interests. A random lemon tree could be a bit of a shock when historically you have been given and thrilled with, say, chocolate.

I personally would love DH to think of giving me a lemon tree, but that is just me. We live in a good climate for it, and in his Texan way of saying "I was raised by tree-hugging, tofu-eating, VW Bus-driving, Californian Deadhead hippies". And quite proud of it, BTW. I had a very, very interesting childhood Grin

It is Mothers's day here as well in the US. But this year we are quite poor, and DH's health hasn't been well (he has a degenerative condition) so I lowered the proverbial bar and told them I dont want presents, please. Make me a nice card, pack a lunch and a bottle of wine and let's spend the day at the pool. It was 96F here yesterday and the pool is my best friend!

YABU, i'd love a lemon tree! But i'm kind of weird. I got a margarita glass with dd's tiny foot print on it Grin 3 months and she knows me so well already he he.

Lob us a lemon, I'll put a wedge in my margarits....

Can I sulk too? Mother's Day here and my In Laws kindly looked after the kids for a few hours yesterday afternoon while we had a bbq to attend - but when I went to pick them up I was told the older kids had asked to stay over and they said yes... so I got up this morning and looked after the baby for two hours while OH lay in, the breakfast in bed my 7 year old wanted to make me never happened, and when we rang to go pick up the kids they asked to keep them till late afternoon as FIL is going away today so won't see them for months... I know I should just enjoy the peace and quiet, but I sort of wanted to make it a family day and would rather like my school-made gifts at some point...

Moan number two - I went out last night and bought an orchid MIL would like and carefully selected the perfect card for OH to give her. So this morning after I thrust it under his nose with a pen, he asks 'what do I write?' grrr! Ingrate...
