AIBU?

To wonder is Osama Bin Laden was even responsible for 9/11?

Has substantial evidence been presented and I missed it?

The guy was a mysogynistic hate mongerer anyway (though he had a very valid point about the US abusing Afghanistan and Middle Eastern countries and I hate the way people think these attacks on the US were borne of nothing other than Muslim hate of the west for no reason), but shouldn't he have had due trial to present evidence that he was indeed the man behind it all?

He was not responsible for it, the Americans done it themselves, there is sufficient evidence online if you want to see it.

To wonder IF, not IS Grin

And before people start, I am not justifying his actions BTW, that was an off topic remark about how people buy into this "terrorist's are unjustifiably coming for our lives and deserve to die" idea without researching the political history of America and the Middle East, in this case Afghanistan.

You have no idea what people think... your sweeping statement that you "hate the way people think these attacks on the US were borne of nothing other than Muslim hate of the west".

Don't know why I'm posting, I hate pointless threads like this.

Fabby I actually have kind of believed that for a long time. Whether they actually orchestrated 9/11 I don't think even matters when you look at the political actions they took that has fuelled so many Middle Eastern fanatical organizations against the US. One way or another, they kind of created their own worst enemy IMO. Oh and of course no act of terrorism or taking innocent lives is justifiable, but the saying "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" really comes to mind.

But I really want to know if there is any solid evidence out there to prove Bin Laden was actually part of it?

LyingWitch apologies if it came axcross that way, I was referring to the many out there who are rejoicing in the death of this evil man without knowing the full history (not that I am an expert myself). Of course I dont think it is every single person, but there are plenty of news channels showing footage of people who genuinely believe this IYSWIM.

Once again my inarticulate way of putting things across lands me in hot water.

Al Qaeda admitted responsibility, and the US state that the interrogation of Khalid Sheik Mohammed bore put that he was the architect of the plot. AQ has also hit a number of other high profile US targets by that time, including the simultaneous hits on the Embassies in Africa. There was no other organisation known to be able to launch such multi-target operations. They had the skills, the funds, the motivation and the track record to pull it off.

So the title of the thread begs the question, if not them, then who?

Me and DH have watched lots of documentaries after 9/11 and the most eye opening one we watched was 9/11 Mysteries - go to goole videos and type in 9/11 mysteries.

Its very good, opens your eyes. Before i watched that i didnt think America could do that but the evidence that they have is unbelievable.

Also it showed a picture on the newspaper today of 9/11 and 7/7 - i didnt think OBL was responsible for 7/7 - i thought it was copy cats from Dewsbury West Yorkshire trying to mirror the attack on the USA.

I don't believe the conspiracy theories that 9/11 was an inside job any more. There was a long discussion on here not so long ago where I was pretty convinced by the arguments certain people made as to how it was possible for the building to fall like it did. Before that I was suspicious but not any more.

As for Osama B-L, I doubt his existence a little. I think he may well be a fictional character for people to direct their feelings about terrorism towards and to provide a visual aid in order that people are supportive of the governments terrorism campaign. That is not to say that the terrorism that goes on is any less horrific or real but usually its perpetrators are 'faceless' aren't they? Hence my views on B-L.

I just think most of the evidence is circumstantial. Under normal circumstances there would be a trial, even war criminals of the worst kind are due a trial so why not Bin Laden?

Electra I often think the same thing you stated in your last paragraph.

Ah yes, Fabbychic the purveyor of truth strikes once again. Already today the coil is an abortificient. Now the Americans did it themselves. I'd best get my tinfoil hat on for when the lizard people come to claim the earth as theirs

Boobooglass, there is a world of difference between believing the likes of Icke and taking onboard the massive evidence that the US at the very least knew of and did nothing to stop 9/11.

There is sufficient evidence for anything online! Doesn't stop it being bollocks though!

A trial would have been out of the question. Detaining OBL is likely to have made the security situation much worse - likely to have been lots of hostage taking demanding his release.

I was sent a link by Amnesty International and even they are kind of supporting the decision to kill OBL.

Hear, hear, electra about doubting the existence of BL. I'm told old to believe in the big bad wolf reality is much more sinister.

One man's fact, is another man's mass deception. One man's conspiracy theory, is another man's enlightened truth. All I can say, is thank god for the internet. Info is freely available and people are free to can make up their own minds.

Perhaps "supporting" is a slight exaggeration but they certainly were not condemning the Americans.

no, it was lord Lucan what done it. He rode up to the twin towers on Shergar while elvis sang "suspicious minds" and they collapsed. Just like that.

And then they all disappeared and nobody knew where they had come from, or disappeared to, but rumour has it that Diana was there as well with Dodi Fayed because he was a muslim, ya know.

And meanwhile back in the real world...

Sorry but i thought everyone knew it was Aliens that done it!!!.

Bin Laden could not stand trial as it was a major security risk. Too many extreamists would of been holding the world to ransom until his release. But if I was America I would say he is dead but keep him alive as he has far too much info for them to loose.
