Personally regarding Bin Laden, I think if he was still alive AQ would have wasted no time parading him on tv with a copy of today's paper!

A couple of years ago there were reports that it was suspected that he had died.

When I heard this news, my first thought that it was a bluff, to make him "officially" dead, knowing that he was almost certainly dead already; the purpose being to stop his supporters claiming or believing him to still be alive.
