His defence will be provocation mixed with substance abuse (alcohol or maybe drugs, you never know) I bet...but working against him is the sustained attack, according to the story he suffocated her but bought her back to life, that is animalistic and torture, planned and thought out during the act. This was not an 'off the cuff' act, it was a prolonged, vicious and disgusting act against another human being.

I hope the prosocuters rip into the defence and manage to get a decent time for him to spend in prison. He is a dangerous man.

I hope she gets justice.

Sprinkles I was thinking the same. Just like that Katie Piper girl, people seemed to think it was far worse because she was 'pretty'...its disgusting to happen to anyone, pretty, plain young or old.

animula · 01/05/2011 09:52

I can't answer for Issey, but I would guess she's intuitively picked up on part of the intention of the act, which was aimed at her attractiveness (to others), and her able-bodiedness, and at making the rest of her life as difficult as possible (ie. turning her youth into a negative attribute).

It's appalling. Am saddened and angry, (and a little more "aware" than an hour ago).

JimmyChooChoo, I see your point. Initially I was thinking "Oh, I wish I hadn't opened this" but I think you're right.

gkys · 01/05/2011 09:58

how in the world do you provoke someone enough to do that? the man is clearly a monster, it will take her years to recover from this. i don't care what his "reasons". it was a calculated sustained attack,

saffy85 · 01/05/2011 10:03

Shock Oh dear fucking god.

Calling him an animal is quite frankly an insult- animals don't tend to treat their own kind this way. Sick, sick fucker.

He couldn't have been that drunk/high on drugs imo if he was able to think clearly enough to suffocate the poor woman and then bring her back to torture her some more. This wasn't "an act of passion". It was an act of pure evil. Anyone (ie lawyer who uses the termed "provoked") who says another person deserves the kind of treatment this lady got need their head examined.

That's so, so awful! I can't imagine being so afraid and in so much pain.

How could someone do that? I don't understand.

Narketta · 01/05/2011 10:15

This makes me feel sick angry and sad, god only knows how that poor woman will ever recover emotionally, Were as that monster will walk free in a few years. What the hell makes a person behave like that?

As far as evil goes this is in a league of its own, I seriously hope he gets whats coming to him when he's inside.

DoubleDegreeStudent · 01/05/2011 10:15

This is horrific. The poor woman.

(Don't flame me) would just like to point out that regardless of his identity/rumours spread by people who know him, this is a public forum and comments like "it's not the first time" should be used with caution. Maybe it isn't, but if it is relevant to the case it will be mentioned, and if it isn't relevant and a juror reads something like this online then it could very possibly work in the defendant's favour because the jury have been prejudiced (iyswim). As you were.

ilovepancakes · 01/05/2011 20:24

I would not call him an animal! he's a monster
even an animal would not do anything like that!

HalfPastWine · 01/05/2011 21:30

That is one of the worst stories I have ever read.

That guy should do hard time for what he did. Prison would be an easy ride for a monster like that.

MsScarlett · 01/05/2011 21:42

Oh my fucking god. I used to live in Hayle briefly and I had a possessive and violent boyfriend who was from there when I was on 19. It seems they breed psychopaths there. Made my blood run cold reading that. What a horrific story.
