devonshiredumpling · 27/04/2011 23:00

am i being unreasonable to be fed up with the royal wedding coverage and all the attention it is getting

OP posts:
EvilTwins · 27/04/2011 23:01

Yes.

ivykaty44 · 27/04/2011 23:02

Yes UABU you don't have to watch the coverage or read the newspaper articles, you can turn off and make your own choice. Is soemone sitting and &forcing^ you to watch the tv or read the articles in the newspaper? is soemone forcing you not to hide the wedding coverage threads on mn? No they are not you are wathcing and reading all by your self and making those chocies and then wailing about the coverage Confused

honeybehappy · 27/04/2011 23:03

agree with ivylaty44 however i am pissed off that DD1 has to wear "post clothes" to school to celebrate.

GloriaSmut · 27/04/2011 23:04

No. But I suspect this topic is already rather "last week".

LauraNorder · 27/04/2011 23:05

Yep you are

ninah · 27/04/2011 23:06

what are post clothes?

Janoschi · 27/04/2011 23:07

Nope. Utterly bored too. Two of the most tedious people in the world are getting hitched, and whoopee-do we're paying for it. YADNBU.

mylovelymonster · 27/04/2011 23:07

thefirstmrsrochester · 27/04/2011 23:09

TBH u cannot 'switch off' the wedding - OP im pissed off with it too.

LoveLeonardCohen · 27/04/2011 23:10

YABU stop being a bah humbug

honeybehappy · 27/04/2011 23:11

Sorry i meant posh clothes

Spatz · 27/04/2011 23:13

I thought I was about to learn something new about popular culture.
What could 'post clothes' be?

PureBloodMuggle · 27/04/2011 23:13

I'm fairly certain that the wedding is coming up soon (not quite sure media a bit vaugue on date) which means it'll be over soon.

ivykaty44 · 27/04/2011 23:14

I haven't seen any coverage on tv at all, i haven't read much about the wedding and have heard a little on the radio. So sorry but you can switch off if you choose to

Bogeyface · 27/04/2011 23:15

Its easy to say you can turn over or not read that bit in the paper, but it is EVERYWHERE! Every channel, every paper, every school, every advert, everywhere!

I have no beef with them getting married, but I am getting sick of seeing their faces everywhere I look.

I hope they have a wonderful day and a happy marriage, I genuinely do. But I dont need or want to know every little detail or to find something to watch on TV that isnt yet another faux documentary about them!

ivykaty44 · 27/04/2011 23:18

Simple turn the tv off, then you get rid of any advert - adverts for royal wedding - erh why?, you get to switch every channel on the tv off. Dont have to read the newspaper and at your age stop going to school and leave that for your dc unles syou are the teacher Wink

Booandpops · 27/04/2011 23:21

Misery guts. I can't wait and have bunted my house got bubbly in the fridge
And have planned to wear red and navy and White :)
Lovin it

AgentZigzag · 27/04/2011 23:31

I've seen so little mention of it I don't even know what time kick off is.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Don't want to be expending extra energy clicking google tabs and that Grin

Tommy · 27/04/2011 23:34

I agree with bogeyface

I'm not against the wedding or the monarchy at all - just a bit puzzled by the hype - thought we had moved on from that sort of thing Hmm

goodbyemrschips · 28/04/2011 07:33

I don't think there has been been much hype compared to charles and diana.

But then I dont watch the news only read papers on line so click on what i want to read.

Not much selling in town thought I would see more flags mugs etc.

but I will be watching and going to the street party afterwards any excuse for an egg and spoon race and a beer.

NinkyNonker · 28/04/2011 08:20

I really haven't seen that much, as I don't watch TV really and read the papers online. I just tune out what I'm not interested in.

And really, what did you expect?

bubblecoral · 28/04/2011 08:23

Yes, yabu. Like Scrooge at Christmas.

fedupalready · 28/04/2011 08:28

YADNBU, the coverage is becoming ludicrous, who gives a sh_ if Prince Charles has a blood shot eye, who give a sh_ if Kate Middletons uncle was once a cocaine user, been on a sun-bed & is taking his 2nd ex wife to the wedding, do we really need this dribble down our throats.

OryxCrake · 28/04/2011 09:21

Agree with Ninky - I've managed to avoid most of it. Don't watch much TV and also read the papers online so I only read what I'm interested in.

I remember when Charles and Di got married, I lived in central London so was very close to where it was all kicking off. Just left town for a couple of days and when I got back it was all over. No problem.

I have nothing against them (although I'm not a monarchist) but am simply not that interested in weddings. Even my own was the smallest I've ever come across!
