Yesterday we were shopping, my 2 year old DD was having a tantrum outside a shop we had just been in as we wouldn't buy her a dora dress she saw. I started walking off with the pram and DH had my 4 year old and was telling DD to stop being silly, anyway up walks a nun, says something to her and gives her a little chocolate egg!!! WTF how is that teaching her acceptable behaviour? Now she is going to think if I scream and shout strangers are going to give me sweets!! Also she didn't give one to my son who WAS being good and standing right next to DD.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against people giving kids sweets, don't think they are all peados wierd just that screaming children shouldn't be rewarded.

She was trying to be nice, OP... your post is really unreasonable. Hmm

Rather than listening to an ear-splitting tantrum that nobody wants to see or hear, she distracted your DD with a little treat. It's not a reward as it didn't come from you, it was a random gesture of kindness, or it is to right-thinking people.

It's a shame that your son didn't get one, perhaps she didn't see him or perhaps she needed to remove herself from the tasmanian-devillish behaviour she could see brewing in you...

I worry for your blood pressure, ranting over something so very minor and trivial.
