He is 20months old

He has had a whole Thomas egg already.

Still left are;
1 Rabbit and eggs from us
1 Rabbit from my mum
1 small egg from PIL
1 egg from easter trail
1 smarties egg from best friend

I am a greedyguts and have eaten my one rabbit and am eyeing up the booty.
He's too young isn't he?

AIBU?

YANBU. You are saving him from rotting teeth and obesity. Give the lad an apple instead.

Chocolate is very bad for children. Save his teeth and health. Eat the lot (or give some to me.....)

supadupacreameggscupa · 26/04/2011 19:46

I would just like to dd a disclaimer to let you all know we do brush his teeth and he eats plenty of fruit and veg. We do not normally shower him with so much chocolate.

phew!

YANBU. My DD is 18 months and MIL keeps buying her chocolate that I have to eat. I have let her have the odd button out of guilt, but I really don't think small children need too much (or any) chocolate.

I don't really know what a good age is to start letting her have the odd treat. I don't want to be too anal, but I want to be responsible and I'm finding it hard to find the right balance.

I wish I'd sent an email last week asking people not to buy eggs for DS, who's 18mo. I've eaten a Milky bar egg already, but there are two others sitting there, including a massive one granny bought, such a waste of money!

I'm glad my mum had the sense to give me cash, and god mummy bought him a puppet. Toddlers don't need chocolate!

worraliberty · 26/04/2011 19:49

Toddlers don't need chocolate but then nor does anyone.

Just put the eggs in the fridge and even if it takes a few months, he can at least enjoy what was bought for him.

Icoulddoitbetter · 26/04/2011 19:50

Pink I've let DS have a little bit to taste when he's seen me eating it and put his hand out for some, but I'm planning on not giving him chocolate til he knows what it is and asks for it!

YANBU DS is 17 months old and has a stupid amount -because I am a chocoholic- for his health I will help him eat them!

I am dreading when he is old enough to count them and notice them missing!

supadupacreameggscupa · 26/04/2011 19:52

I am thinking i should definitely eat guilt free the one we bought him for starters

If anyone has any unloved, unwanted chocolate easter eggs just send them over to me. I will give them a good home.

In my belly....

ok i'm starting with the smarties egg on the basis that he can't have the smarties anyway, so i would HAVE to eat half of it.

Icoulddoitbetter DD has also only had it when she's seen me eat it and put her hand out for some. I mostly try not to eat it in front of her. I think I'll wait until she asks...I guess they don't know what they're missing it it isn't offered to them.
