To think that Andrew Marr got exactly what he deserved?

Great idea, pet. Get a super injunction so that no one can report on you being an adulterous arsehole then write an article about how dreadful super injunctions are. Yes, it did prevent your wife and kids from being vilified, not to mention the other child you believed to be yours. However, wouldn't the time to think about your family have been beforehand, not afterwards?

Allegedly, obv!

ohmyfucksy · 26/04/2011 19:18

As if anyone gives a shit

Gooseberrybushes · 26/04/2011 19:23

Peach: I know. But seriously, no one ever agrees with me, it's a strange feeling Grin

foxinsocks · 26/04/2011 22:15

What I don't get is why the woman in question never got a paternity test done straight away and why he didn't ask for one

Surely if you knew you'd had sex with more than one man after your last period and before the next one, you couldn't assume one was the father?!

He also only came out with this story today because he was under pressure from other sources so it's not like he's done this on his own steam!

thekidsrule · 26/04/2011 22:23

totally agree op YANBU

he deffo grew from the ugly tree that one,how do these wealthy high profile men do it i wonder.lol

longfingernails · 26/04/2011 22:28

Is it really such a surprise that Marr is an odious hypocrite? What exactly did you expect of him?

reelingintheyears · 26/04/2011 23:54

Andrew Marr on Jeremy Kyle....

Put something on the end of it.

GloriaSmut · 27/04/2011 00:44

I'm surprised that Andrew Marr assumes himself so important that the rest of us would be bothered with his extramural activities. As DP's former MIL was wont to say, clearly he thinks he is "body every self"

But yes, I agree that he is a rank hypocrite and also think that these super injunctions are increasingly little more than a merely a licence to behave badly. And a misogynistic one at that.

expatinscotland · 27/04/2011 00:47

I can't see why he even needed an injunction. I mean, surely, if you'd slept with an ugly knob jockey like Andrew Marr it'd be something you'd be desperate to conceal.

As for cheating lowlives like him, I don't really care, but I don't see why they should be able to cover it up when they get found out.

If he wants to preserve his family, he might try keeping his snake in its cage.

GloriaSmut · 27/04/2011 00:49

Sake...what I meant to say was:
"little more than a licence to behave badly"!

Gooseberrybushes · 27/04/2011 07:51

lfn - to the point and quite right

howdidthishappenthen · 27/04/2011 08:08

I'll disagree with you Gooseberry Smile. I think he's an interesting and probing journalist, and I couldn't be less interested in his private life. If he retires from media, I think it will be a pity. I'm equally disinterested in the indiscretions of politicians, provided they seem competent and committed in their jobs. Wouldn't do him though (for the record)..

Northernlurker · 27/04/2011 08:20

Had he not had an injunction and the whole torrid thing had come out then it would just have been a three days wonder, much sympathy for Jackie Ashley and a bit of speculation over the identity of the child/mother. Then it would just have gone away. He wouldn't have lost his job, he wouldn't have appeared to be a world class hypocrite but he would have been shown up as an adulterer.
It was sickening yesterday to hear him say he didn't want to be associated with the other super-injunction types. What makes you different Andrew? The protecting the chil thing was a smokescreen - you were protecting you and you still are.
Personally if I were Jackie Ashley I would say that she could put up with being married to an adulterer but being married to a smug hypocritical prig is the final straw.

Madsometimes · 27/04/2011 10:38

YANBU. No-one would have been v interested or surprised that a middle aged political journalist was caught with his pants down apart from his immediate family.

Everyone in Westminister knew about it because Guido had published it in 2008. It was a farce and Marr knew it.

His family have been hurt far more now by him trying to cover his dirty deeds.

NinkyNonker · 27/04/2011 11:12

Flisspaps, that is exactly the conversation DH and I had in the car!

And apart from that, what Hecate said, as normal. I loathe hypocrisy.
