...to chuck out the Betterware booklet?

I have a NO JUNK MAIL notice on my letterbox so I get no junk mail - right? Nope I get the same amount as I did without it on.

Today one of them was the Betterware booklet. I know this is someone's livelihood but FFS I said no junk mail! Added to this, I told this very same person last time to stop delivering it.

I'm a grumpy old bag aren't I?

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that to make real money (i.e. a bigger slice of the profit on each product) you have to have recruited people under you. The "real" earning isn't being the person hefting the catalogues around.

To be fair, Kleeneze is one of the "nicer" MLM schemes around, but it's still an MLM scheme.

I don't like the catalogues and even though I understand that people are trying to make a living, it's intrusive and unsolicited. I'd love to see them stopped. If people want whatever gubbins it is, they'll ask. There are umpteen sources of product listings that people can tap in to.

Why is it not an opt IN? [anger]

I really don't see why people distributing Avon, Betterware, Kleeneze or anything else can't understand that they are disturbing people who haven't asked for that service. It's spamming, littering and a waste of paper. [anger]

I've been bombarded this week with junk mail related to voting... I've been so incensed that I've e-mailed each of the candidates and told them I won't be voting for them as they obviously have no green policy... [anger] Overkill, perhaps, but I know how Victor Meldrew feels now, I really do. Grin

I'm registered with Mail Preference but I don't know that that is awfully effective and I've recently found out that some of the companies I was dealing with, have passed my details elsewhere. I would never have agreed to that and I've been removing myself from their databases systematically ever since.

I yearn for the days when phone numbers were only three digits long and pre-fixed with the village name when the phone was answered.... Blush

Lying I am sorry you feel that way and if you were on my territory and had made it clear you didn't want my brochure I would of course stop posting through your door. I have done Avon for about 16 yrs and have very loyal customers that like having the book delivered to them, no pressure to order and can return it to me if they don't like it for any reason, even if used which they can't do it they buy make up or toiletries from say Boots etc.
If I don't show up for some reason ( illness ) they show concern for me and many of them will come and pick up their orders to save me time.
I do make money and don't recruit people as I don't have the confidence to do so. I just enjoy it :)

inchoccyheaven... This is going to appear a dreadful volte face, but I actually love Avon... I just don't want the catalogues because I spend far too much, every single campaign so I've had to ban myself and when my regular Avon lady stopped, I steeled myself to quit cold turkey. Grin

As for the others though, catalogues schmatalogues... pah Hmm

Grin lying your secret is out.

It is in the recycling box at present. Due to be collected sunday, not from me it's not as recycling the truck is coming on saturday. I know IABU for thinking ho ho ho at the end of that sentence.

I know it's the same person who I asked last time not to deliver it.

Which reminds me, very many months ago we ordered some total shite from the other lot Kleeneze. I paid the guy with a £5 note. When I left for work there was a £5 note on the doorstep. Did I try to track him down? Did I bugger. Items lasted about a week, pegs were shite, bag clips were shite, fake £1 for trolleys was utter shite.

Now Avon I liked...back in the 80s.
