Threads are what the posters make them, some of the best ones start off about some random shite, coatgate is a classic eg.

plupedantic · 22/04/2011 20:47

Inane small talk can lead to real conversation, with the right conversation partner. People who post things which even they find inane could be very lonely. Have you any sympathy with that?

P.S. Chaos, where is your terribly interesting-sounding capitalisation thread? Is it in Pedants' Corner?

Panzee · 22/04/2011 20:48

You think this is bad? You want to go to Digital Spy. I love it, but sheesh. One of the questions was whether a barber would be open on Good Friday.

hormonesnomore · 22/04/2011 20:50

It's chat. It's having a conversation with people. It's a great feeling when someone answers your 'inane' question - a connection to others.

Don't knock it if you don't appreciate the value of it.

michelle2011 · 22/04/2011 20:50

Panzee really? guess its universal but the responses here just tickling me
i could have named a few but im not that type of person :)

ChaosTrulyReigns · 22/04/2011 20:53

Actually, it thought it was quite good Gwendy, made me nod my head in an inanely approving manner.

TheOriginalFAB · 22/04/2011 20:59

Try reading some threads in bereavement, mental health, ante natal choices and then try and say members are posters of inane questions.

jojowest · 22/04/2011 20:59

when i read some of the angst this morning, i thought, jeez doesnt anyone just shrug and say oh well any more. they take on all this imagined anxiety as if its the worst thing in the world, when they could easily just say, oh that was odd/strange/bit weird/rude, oh well lets forget it

instead we have people going on about stuff thats happened months ago, kids haircuts causing tremendous heartbreak, and other kids telling tales

hilarious!

GypsyMoth · 22/04/2011 21:00

ah...dont like it that you've been caught out???

shakey1500 · 22/04/2011 21:01

Nonsical?? What's that when it's at home? Is it a new entry this year? Quite like it though, has a ring to it.

Anyhoo, yes, there's always an option to hide, what you may consider, to be inane. And does it really matter, in the big scheme of things? I mean, does it really affect you THAT much that you felt the need to start a thread (equally inane btw) about it?
