Apparently it is worth £250K. I personally never go shopping in the Kings Road or anywhere else for that matter, wearing my pieces of jewellery that have been valued at over £100K, for the risk of losing these heirlooms. what could she be thinking? I know she has a body guard there but even so!

Unless she is wearing a cunningly constructed papier mache copy?

maybe she wants to lose it so will's will buy her a NICE NEW one

SugarSkyHigh · 22/04/2011 16:50

Well the Queen god bless her soul doesn't tend to wear the crown when going about her daily duties. My own crown is kept in the family safe and brought out only for my wedding anniversaryand light housework. Kate take note!

Guaranteed she had at least two guards (probably armed) who were either right next to her or behind her, we just can't see them, they are trained to be discrete. She does look very thin, but she was never huge in first place and I imagine she is under a huge amount of stress. Hopefully someone will tell her though that her eyeliner look is over ....

fedupofnamechanging · 22/04/2011 19:07

I know it's worth a lot of money, but God, that's an ugly ring.

They're selling some really hideous classy fakes on QVC.

toddlerwrangler · 22/04/2011 19:12

She looks so skinny there :(

And I think it is lovely that she is wearing that ring as an engagement ring should be worn, rather then at fancy events as a piece of costume jewellery.

GloriaSmut · 22/04/2011 19:13

Oh la! ... "wearing my pieces of jewellery that have been valued at over £100K".

Do get over yourself, dear.

toddlerwrangler · 22/04/2011 19:15

Ok, costume jewellery is the wrong term to use for a 35million squid ring, but you get the drift!

exoticfruits · 22/04/2011 19:19

Why would you have an engagement ring that you couldn't wear everyday?
Seems pointless to have one in the bank!

CareyFakes · 22/04/2011 19:21

It's a cursed ring, surprised it hasn't made her hand go black like Dumbledore.

PrincessScrumpy · 22/04/2011 19:23

YABU - I never take off my engagement ring (apart from when I had to have it cleaned after I went to Glastonbury festival). She has body guards. who would steal it?

I have a beautiful ruby necklace (not worth £250k but still worth over £1k) and my granny gave it to me after dd was born. It was a gift that my grandad gave her for their ruby wedding. I wear it. What's the point of having jewellery and keeping it in a box?

HerRoyalHighnessPrincessCervix · 22/04/2011 19:27

she is very beautiful but she should watch it. i left my tiara in mataland yesterday when i tried on a stylish trilby.

Cutiecat · 22/04/2011 19:28

LOL @ SugarSkyHigh I wonder if she will just wear a little tiara when popping to the shops.

I wear all my jewellery all of the time, don't see the point in having it otherwise (though not worth that much!). Personally I am not a fan of the ring, I think it is dated and has too many associations. Now I am not a particular fan of Camilla but I think her ring is much nicer. Will see if I can dig out a picture of it.

GloriaSmut · 22/04/2011 19:29

Shopping can be sooo distracting, can't it? One minute I was checking the strength of the knicker elastic in Primark and the next I discovered I'd mislaid my Crown Jewels.

Life is for living, what the use of having lovely things if they're just sitting in a dark safe somewhere?

TheOriginalFAB · 22/04/2011 19:34

cutiecat Confused that is camilla's ring.

SugarSkyHigh · 22/04/2011 19:39

wd love to see pic of camilla ring, cutie. Agree the Di ring is dated - not to mention a creepy gesture to give it to Kate IMO - though I suppose Kate could always have a look here

OP posts:
SugarSkyHigh · 22/04/2011 19:42

oh actually not too keen on camilla's.....

OP posts:
vintageteacups · 22/04/2011 19:44

I bet it's a replica.

fedupofnamechanging · 22/04/2011 19:48

I rather like Camilla's. Certainly prefer it to Diana's/Kate's.

What do you do though if your DP presents you with his beloved mother's ring and you hate it?

sharbie · 22/04/2011 19:50

will def be a replica
