to be pissed off with mother inviting her dd to our pizza party

when her dd wont eat pizza? My dd (11) invited some friends around for pizza (after oking it with me first). These were friends she has played with throughout the Easter holidays. Neighbour got to hear of this "pizza party" and knocked my door to tell me that her dd wanted to come but doesn't like pizza. "She wont mind if you make her a sandwich. I am going out with my mates and my mum will pick her up in about an hour".

TBH I was so fucking gobsmacked I didnt say anything! But now i wish I had said her d was not invited - especially as this is not the first time she has not eaten anything at our house. She only eats chicken nuggets and fishfingers! Ok I know IABU about allowing her to stay but I am so fucking miffed at the cheek of my neighbour.

How rude.
Did your DD want her to come?

I feel sorry for the girl though, it sounds like the mother's fault, rather than the child.

AgentZigzag · 22/04/2011 00:16

Cheeky neighbour if that's the way she put it, but not too much of a burden if she doesn't eat anything, so long as your DD was up for it.

Tbf though, if the neighbour was really asking for you to babysit her DD while she gets on with her night out she should have been up front with you.

FriedEggyAndSlippery · 22/04/2011 00:18

Wow I can't believe the entitlement of some people! YANBU.

firstsupermum · 22/04/2011 00:23

I am sorry to say as you didnt say nothing, its your fault, i think if you make it clear that its just for you dd friend, she may understand. but since you're not saying nothing about it, how do you excpect her to know?

MangoTango · 22/04/2011 00:23

WAs the girl the only child in the road not invited? Maybe she told her mum that your dd was having a pizza party and the mum just assumed her dd had been invited.

worraliberty · 22/04/2011 00:23

Sounds like your DD might have given her the impression she was welcome?

Since when did having a few mates around for a takeaway become a 'pizza party'? Lol....sounds very American Grin

justusfive · 22/04/2011 00:25

Nah to make it even worse I cooked chicken nuggests and garlic bread to accomodate her. I must be fucking mad - but it wont happen again! No - dd did not invite her as she has not been round to play with her at all this holiday! And tbh dd does not like her very much because she is an attention seeking little madam and true to form spoilt this party with her incessant whinging!!

Neighbours grrr! When I win the lottery I think i want to move to the country and live my life as a recluse! Now IABU I hear you say.....

OP you should have said no, fuck off, therefore you are BU

justusfive · 22/04/2011 00:28

Vajazzhands you are right on both counts. Fuck off you whinging brat it should have been!

NettoSuperstar · 22/04/2011 00:34

I'm not American, I just stay up late and had a neighbour's child foisted on me last year.
I accommodated her, as did DD and her (invited) friend, but I wasn't happy.
I'm not a childminding service, particularity when I'm minding so the parents can lock the door and presumably, shagHmm

burgerandchipswithredsauce · 22/04/2011 00:37

You should have told neighbour it was a pizza party therefore pizza was being served and if her kid didnt like pizza there was no point in her attending. I get your drift though. But some cheeky fuckers dont like to think of their kids being left out - even if they are not invited. Tell your kid to keep it secret next time!

I takeit your kid invited the kids she was playing with at the time? Not unreasonable on your part but fucking cheeky of your neighbour to invite her own kid!

AgentZigzag · 22/04/2011 00:42

Did they come back all red faced and out of breath Netto? Grin

That beats palming your DC off on the neighbours so you can get down the pub I'm afraid OP Grin

well soory to dissapoint but I have no idea what happened on that particular night lol lol. BUT it is not unusual to see several blokes parking on her driveway of a night - especially when the kids are at their dads Wink Wink

Good luck to her I say - provided she feeds her own kids before sorting her social life! Grin
