AIBU to feel totally annoyed that nursery wants them to dress as members of the royal family

I am sure many nursery's will be doing the same thing but next week is fancy dress for the royal wedding, they are 3-4 FFS. Apart from the obvious princess dress which she doesn't have what can I send her in. I really resent spending money on this especially as I am really not into this wedding at all.

When did this fancy dress to school/nursery thing start, and AIBU to think it happens too often and is a PITA.

We have one - sorry! But I have made one before - Grey tabard with white crest shape and red cross, cardboard sword and shield.

You could (if you have a red or purple one) wrap a bedsheet around her and bung a cardboard crown on top. Or the wellies + headscarf idea - that covers most of the female older royals. OR go as Zara and wear perfectly sensible leggings, wellies and a top with a stick (easily discarded by DD once she's gone through the door [buwink]) as a riding crop.
