Blush because it's true. Really looking forward to it, and gutted that it's dh's birthday so we have to go out that we will miss the first episode this weekend. Thank god for the iplayer.

I don't think YABU, but personally I've tried and tried with Doctor Who and finally had to admit ... I don't like it. I didn't like Eccleston, I didn't get the fuss about Tennant and Piper, and I really can't deal with Matt Smith.

Sorry. Wish I DID like it as, apart from anything else, DP and several of my mates love it and so it's always been a grand excuse to get people round for food and a viewing session. But I just can't do it any more Sad

Having said that, I hope all you fans enjoy it!

The royal wedding gets a big 'whatever' (complete with the hand sign with your fingers and thumbs doing a 'W'), although am intrigued to see Kate's dress.

However, the only way I could be more excited about the new season of Doctor Who is if David Tennant was still the Doctor

TidyDancer · 22/04/2011 11:50

I'm afraid I'm going to go against the grain and state YABU! Doctor Who is a steaming pile of shite and I can't stand it! Grin

GwendolineMaryLacey · 22/04/2011 11:55

TidyDancer you speak much sense. Dr Who is indeed a pile of shite. It was shite back in the day, it is even more shitey now.

I would rather have root canal treatment than watch it!

TidyDancer · 22/04/2011 11:56

Me too, shall we make a date for the dentist now? Grin

bitsyandbetty · 22/04/2011 11:57

Definitely me, Can't wait for Doctor Who

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 22/04/2011 11:59

I was actually hoping to be working on the 29th to avoid the Royal Wedding in its entirety but sadly have been granted the day off work. Doctor Who on the other hand has had me and the DCs leaping about in anticipation for the last couple of weeks. Starting it this weekend is fantastic as we'll be visiting MIL on Sunday instead of the usual Saturday so will get to give it absolute attention it deserves Grin Grin

ScarletOHaHa · 22/04/2011 12:03

Defo YANBU. Staying in to watch it [bugrin]

GwendolineMaryLacey · 22/04/2011 13:09

Brushing as I type :o

BalloonSlayer · 22/04/2011 13:44

I am looking forward to both

BUT

I think it very selfish of William and Kate to have such a short engagement. Think of the Royal-Wedding-Themed Dr Who episode we could have had, if they had only had time to write it!

microserf · 22/04/2011 13:58

Ha BalloonSlayer, I did think the same thing. Pure selfishness to deny us the opportunity. [busmile]

Funny I like DW so much now. I spent my entire childhood literally hiding behind the sofa utterly terrified of cardboard monsters and daleks that couldn't manage stairs. But now I am a huge fan due to the casting of david tennant as the doctor its excellent writing.

Dr Who voter here!

JuicyLips · 22/04/2011 15:23

Yanbu at all. really excited. Im not excited about the wedding. I dont know them, they dont know me. Would of course be different if I knew them and had been invited though.

ratspeaker · 22/04/2011 15:54

YANBU
Dr Who is far more important
Having said that I've set up the V+ as we're off to a wedding next week

BringBackGoingForGold · 22/04/2011 16:26

I'm much more excited at the prospect of a new series of Sherlock.

microserf · 22/04/2011 19:09

OOH SHERLOCK! when is that starting again? was so annoyed they only did 3 episodes last time - even if they were really long ones. brilliant show.

OP posts:
SardineQueen · 22/04/2011 19:38

Yes, sherlock, when when???????

EllenJane1 · 22/04/2011 20:33

We're so excited here! It's my birthday so we're going out for lunch so we can all watch it 'live'. Yah, boo, sucks microserf!

Did shed a few tears for Elisabeth Sladen, though.

ThingOne · 22/04/2011 20:38

Oh microserf, you really shouldn't give the game away so much (13:58).

But otherwise YANBU at all. A new series of Dr Who is a Big Event especially with two small boys in the house. Couldn't really give a monkey's about the RW but feel I should have some idea of what is going on!

MissAnthrope · 22/04/2011 20:40

I'd be more excited if David Tennant was still the Dr, i just cant warm to Matt Smith at all, and the royal wedding? yawn but thanks for the day off Grin

twilight3 · 23/04/2011 06:50

why would you be excited about the wedding??!!! YANBU

Snapespeare · 23/04/2011 07:06

Beyond excitement! Shakespeares birthday and doctor who! I'm dusting off my primark tiara and making bunting for wills Shakespeare & Sarah jane. Doctor who is one of many thing that makes me proud of my country...as an anti-monarchist, I like Liz 2 best when played by Helen mirren. :)

TandB · 23/04/2011 07:59

I know someone who knows Matt Smith.
