Santander sent me a leaflet a couple of months ago informing me of changes to their overdraft fees. I read it and noted it but it didn't affect me, still 50p a day capped at 10 days per month. Thought no more of it.
This evening I was clearing out my spam filter when I noticed an email from them. Looked very much like a copy of the leaflet they'd already sent but I had a quick scan through it anyway and this time it said the charge was 50p a day capped at 20 days a month.
I phoned and had a moan at a customer service woman who sounded really bored and said it was because they'd changed it again and didn't have time to send a leaflet out before they came into force so sent an email instead. But she did "apologise that [I felt] that way" so that'll be OK then
AIBU to think it's pretty shoddy to change things with less than 14 days notice and in such a way that most of their customers won't even notice this until after the event? I'm sure the majority of people would assume the information to be a last minute reminder of the changes they'd been already informed of. Fair enough it's only another fiver but what a crappy way to do business.
