Read about this on that baby shower thread.
Sounds awesome.
I'm not sure of all the rules, but can we play now?

Sounds fun, actually.

£5.99 if they're organic.

I have some gorgeous nipple pads, made from custom dyed organic bamboo velour. Stunning. It's almost a shame to wear them.

just don't ask what they cost

MumSecret · 20/04/2011 14:56

Well asking is probably against the rules anyway, dee

I once saw some silk and wool ones for £7 a pair....

ChaosTrulyReigns · 20/04/2011 15:07

Mine were crocheted by blind nuns recluded away in a transylvanian convent.

Handcrafted from puy lentil skins, sewn together with the finest silk.

They washed really well on a 30segree wash.

Lasted for 4 DC.

I highly recomnend them, although they are quite difficult to obtain.

SecretNutellaFix · 20/04/2011 15:10

£6.49 for Lansinoh ones, about £4.99 for Tommee tippee, £3.99 for avent, £3.99 for Johnsons, £4.99 for basic washables.

Am I close?

I had washable ones - wayyy back in the day - but dh melted the waterproof backing off them when he ironed them.

Don't ask me why he thought they needed ironing - I have still not worked that one out!

WassaAxolotlEgg · 20/04/2011 15:16

SDTG
they're supposed to have backing?

Did you sell yours at an NCT sale? Maybe I have them!

PaganOfBologna · 20/04/2011 15:16

SDTG that reminds me of a story I read on here where some poor suffering woman had her MIL over to stay after the birth of her child. She went for a rest whilst MIL tackled the washing pile and awoke to find a cup of tea delicately arranged on an ironed breast pad Grin

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 20/04/2011 17:19

It was a sort of waterproof layer, but only a very thin one, if you see what I mean, Wassa, but it was nearly 16 years ago, so I don't remember that well. And I think I binned them, rather than selling them - but again, see above for the memory issues (wry grin). It's a shame - I'd have liked to have thought of my heirloom breastpads serving women in many years and generations to come.

Pagan - did the thread say whether the OP told her MIL what the 'coaster' actually was? That would have been an interesting conversation. Grin
