woman with sweet ?5 year old boy. he looking longingly as CPs. me going to get some( holiday treat)
her " oh no you dont want THOSE, they are DISGUSTING"
i was so tempted to say " oh no they are REALLY NICE" as she repeated it so many times.

my objection was

  1. she was totally negating her sons feelings
2, i dont like chocolate cereal but to say they are disgusting is just a lie
  1. i wanted to piss on her fireworks

am i being unreasonable

i have them every morning with some really hot water and milk to make them soggy - i would have bought two boxes right in front of her

We do buy coco pops but I have been known to say no to cheese strings and round meat like products with the face of a teddy on them as they are "not real food"

southeastastra · 19/04/2011 21:46

i got some golden grahams in tesco a month or so back, i bought two packs in case they whipped them away again

dementedma · 19/04/2011 21:52

FriedEggyAndSlippery · 19/04/2011 21:53

Cinnamon grahams? Vomitous? How dare thee Shock

Dammit. Am craving them now (not pregnant - just hungry!)

FYI they are called Curiously Cinnamon. I remember the days when they were Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

cheesesarnie · 19/04/2011 21:59

eeeeww @ cocopops.dh used to buy them for dc(arse).they are chocolate coloured air that dont fill them up and makes them tad loopy-i thought they were naturally loopy but when i banned them to holiday treat(funnily enough they never want them)turns out my dc are actually not so crazy.

Ormirian · 19/04/2011 22:08

Silly woman. If he liked them they aren't disgusting. They are food FFS. Ok they aren't organic, sugar-free, unprocessed, 'plucked from a field at dawn by virgin fairies' food, but they are edible and won't kill him. Unless she is going to let him have them 3 times a day every day I really don't think it will hurt.

Mine love them and no, they don't have them usually, but that doesn't make them disgusting,

YABU as coco pops are shit in a box that I wouldn't give to my dog let alone my children. Why do so many people introduce their kids to shit high salt/sugar cereals when there are so many healthier alternatives? Mine have porridge with fruit puree and always have done so that is what they know and they eat it every day - it is healthy and sets a good breakfast routine for them to follow as they grow, better than so many of the cereals out there.
