...but that doesn't bother him, has been certified by his doctor to be non-infectious (now anyway), dr said fine to send him if he wanted to go, after giving pre-school the option this morning of not having him if it went against any of their policies, and them saying it was fine?

I just went to collect him and the assistant (different one than this morning) acted as if I had left them a child with leprosy, and the other parents collecting were worse, faces like this Hmm.

It might be worth givign the nursery a copy of the Doctor's certificate (but I'm sure you've already thought of that)

but yanbu.

YANBU, if the pre-school have said they're happy to have him, it's sod all to do with the other parents, and you simply refer grumpy faced assistant to her boss. I never give a damn in situations like this :)

Probably a non-specific viral rash, otherwise known as TALOIA (there's a lot of it about) or NFI (nof'ing idea) according to my gp father in law!

WinterOfOurDiscountTents · 18/04/2011 12:41

Slapped cheek syndrome, which he must have got there in the first place I think (and spent two nights in hospital after a febrile seizure when his fever spiked Sad)
But he has the lacy rash and is no longer contagious, he was off all of last week as soon as he showed any signs, and I didn't bring him in until the dr said its not contagious, as of a few days ago).

Oh, YANBU. This is one where you smile cheerfully and say 'oh gosh, I know it looks AWFUL doesn;t it? But apparently nothing to worry about'

or as sparkle says, just don't give a damn what they think.

sparkle12mar08 · 18/04/2011 12:44

Sorry for being so flippant, slapped cheek can be nasty in the vulnerable. I had it when pregnant as wasn't immune - quite a worrying time. But you're absolutely right, it is no longer infectious once the rash has appeared. So I say again, don't worry about the reactyions of others, they don't matter. Trust yourself and your GP.

Northernlurker · 18/04/2011 12:48

If it's not infectious you've done nothing wrong. Ignore them.

GingaNinja · 18/04/2011 14:28

YANBU - just ignore them. Will be leaving DD into her creche tomorrow with interesting nappy rash that gp saw this morning and confirmed was non-infectious etc. Tell grumpy faced nursery asst to piss on her own chips. Grin Specially if your DS caught the damn pestilence in his nursery in the first place.
