On a gorgeous day like this?
They seem offended Im chasing them outside. Mine will play out but the visitors seem confused.

YANBU. We can't get DS in from the garden today!

I am the same, my cousins child came over today but I warned his mum I won't be having them inside as it's a fine sunny day and would rather they played out. 10 minutes later they were asking to go to his house Grin

I rang the mum (my cousin) and said i'd rather she didn't have my son in infront of the xbox and she agreed she'd be kicking them out also lol.

It's like i've asked them to eat raw chillies or something

Visiting kids are often very keen to play with other DCs toys - I remember being like that as a child. Both my boys are like that too

FlamingJamie · 17/04/2011 16:19

I would kick them out if they wanted to play computers all day though, but I'd give them a bit of time to do that if they wanted. I'd want to make them feel welcome

I would allow a bit of inside time if they had been outside a lot, just to rest their skin from the sun, but otherwise mine are out, especially from 3 ish onwards and earlier in the morning (ie up to 11 ish)

FWIW, I don't think that children 'get' the gorgeous day phenemenon - unless it involves paddling pools, hosepipes etc - they'll play out rain or shine. Smile

FlamingJamie · 17/04/2011 17:25

Me too. They just take it for granted. It's adults who are thinking "must make the most of it...this could be our Summer"

They need some time outside to make vit D do they not? Mine don't take much persuasion generally but I do find the more they go out the more they want to really.

They are more likely to play actively and physically outside too - there is more space for it than in the majority of houses - and lets face it, the majority of us need as much exercise as possible these days.
