Inspired by the Paris thread, in a previous life it was the most romantic weekend imaginable in Paris with an SO I loved hugely at the time and was a whirl wind of galleries and smart restaurants, in this life it was DH's proposal, 21 summers ago, in the Rose Garden at the Hurlingam Ball, sipping champage.

the butcher's one is hilarious, like something out of a novel. Are you in Yorkshire Beesimo?

In the days when everyone house shared i.e young and broke boyfriend would go home before the mayhem of the morning.

Yet every morning there would be a small bunch of wild flowers tucked between the milk bottles outside and a piece of card with an X attached. Poor sod must have been asleep a good 3 hours !

molemesseskilledIpom · 16/04/2011 20:03

Oh I want to cry now.

I can honestly say I have never had a romantic moment. No really...I can not think of one. Not one.

Maybe one day though...

Aw Beesimo - mine's a Yorkshireman - there hasn't been much romance since that night in the rose garden - but 20 years and more on Grin

Love this thread. Hoping it'll inspire DH. My most romantic moment (self-engineered together with Mother Nature) was when I hauled DH out of bed very, very early to go and see the sunrise over a beautiful beach in Australia on Fraser Island.

mole

My Mam used to say to me don't let the Man pick you our B its you that needs to do the picking. To be honest after I left school I suspect Mam got me a job in the butchers to flash me off and so I could meet as many lads as possible. I got asked out 23 times in less than two months and had loads of Farm Mams in to check me out as regards to a possibility for their lads.

No it wasn't a hundred years ago it was the 1980s.

What made me pick DH? Well I'd seen him out the window as he went about the town and thought he carried him self well. Found out as much as I could about him , then one day I saw him stop the traffic so a old lady could cross the road and thought 'you'll do for me lad'. So when he came in that day I turned my eyes on him and willed him to me.

Thats all you've got to do dear moley you were born with a womans power just learn how to use it.xx

Two really. Pre marriage it was grabbing a bottle of wine from the hotel in Greece in the small hours of the morning, then supping it on the jetty watching the stars.

Second was when after 3 years married (on the same Greek Isle) he presented me with my eternity ring that he'd had the local Greek jeweller make to match the spec of my engagement ring. I cried lots.

CheerfulYank · 16/04/2011 20:47

Beesimo that makes me smile. :)

HubbaHubbaBubba · 16/04/2011 20:53

Ooh shakey might have to show DH your thread and nudge him gently into the world of romance!

Just remembered another, probably less romantic but still makes me laugh. One of our dates in the early days we were out drinking in a pub, and as we went to leave it started to piss it down - so we grabbed one of the pub's huge beer parasols to shelter under together as we stumbled down the street. Caught a cab without any problem with it, and were a bit surprised to find it in the foggy haze of the hallway outside my room the next morning :o

Far too sensible though, and took it back the next day with a little "sorry" note attached!
