Sniff test. If it looks ok and smells ok it probably is ok.

Open it, smell it, you'll know if it's ok to eat then. I don't risk it with chicken, fish or pork but I have dogs, so that's ok. :)

If it has been sealed, and not opened until now, then it will be fine.. it doesnt magically go off at midnight on the 12th! :)

monkeyfacegrace · 14/04/2011 12:20

mmm, well I opened them, and they had a very slight rainbow sort of shine, so I wimped out.

Im going to chop them into a tomato pasta sauce for DH for dinner Grin

Lol no I wouldn't eat an ood either! I did open this thread to see why someone would Wink

YouaretooniceNOT · 14/04/2011 12:49

No throw them away - how can you be so cruel to DH? LOL!!!

ChoccoVersial · 14/04/2011 12:53

Wimp!

Rainbow shine is normal in cold sliced beef, ood or otherwise.

If you saw how much we stretch use-by dates in our house you'd have a fit.

But you are right - cooking it will remove any risk.
